Parshat: Vayiqra (Leviticus) 16:1-34
And Yahuah spoke unto Mosheh after the death of the two sons of Aharon, when they offered before Yahuah, and died; 2 And Yahuah said unto El-Mosheh: Speak unto El-Aharon your brother, that he come not at all times into the holy place within the veil before the mercy seat, which is upon the Ark; that he dies not: for I will appear in the cloud upon the mercy seat. 3 Thus shall Aharon come into the holy place: with a young bullock for a sin offering, and a ram for an ascending smoke offering. 4 He shall put on the holy linen coat, and he shall have the linen breeches upon his flesh, and shall be girded with a linen belt, and with the linen turban shall he be attired: these are holy garments; therefore shall he wash his flesh in water, and so put them on. 5 And he shall take of the assembly of the children of Yashar’el two kids of the goats for a sin offering, and one ram for an ascending smoke offering. 6 And Aharon shall offer his bullock of the sin offering, which is for himself, and make an atonement for himself, and for his house. 7 And he shall take the two goats and present them before Yahuah at the door of the Tabernacle of the assembly. 8 And Aharon shall cast lots upon the two goats; one lot for Yahuah, and the other lot for Aza’zel. 9 And Aharon shall bring the goat upon which Yahuah’s lot fell and offer him for a sin offering. 10 But the goat, on which the lot fell to be for Aza’zel, shall be presented alive before Yahuah, to make an atonement with him, and to let him go for Aza’zel into the wilderness. 11 And Aharon shall bring the bullock of the sin offering, which is for himself, and shall make an atonement for himself, and for his house, and shall kill the bullock of the sin offering which is for himself: 12 And he shall take a censer full of burning coals of fire from off the altar before Yahuah, and his hands full of sweet incense beaten small, and bring it within the veil: 13 And he shall put the incense upon the fire before Yahuah, that the cloud of the incense may cover the mercy seat that is upon the testimony, that he dies not: 14 And he shall take of the blood of the bullock, and sprinkle it with his finger upon the mercy seat eastward; and before the mercy seat shall he sprinkle of the blood with his finger seven times.
15 Then shall he kill the goat of the sin offering, that is for the people, and bring his blood within the veil, and do with that blood as he did with the blood of the bullock, and sprinkle it upon the mercy seat, and before the mercy seat: 16 And he shall make an atonement for the holy place, because of the uncleanness of the children of Yashar’el, and because of their transgressions in all their sins: and so shall he do for the Tabernacle of the assembly, that remains among them in the midst of their uncleanness. 17 And there shall be no man in the Tabernacle of the assembly when he goes in to make an atonement in the holy place, until he come out, and have made an atonement for himself, and for his household, and for all the assembly of Yashar’el. 18 And he shall go out unto the altar that is before Yahuah and make an atonement for it; and shall take of the blood of the bullock, and of the blood of the goat, and put it upon the horns of the altar round about. 19 And he shall sprinkle of the blood upon it with his finger seven times, and cleanse it, and hallow it from the uncleanness of the children of Yashar’el.
20 And when he has made an end of reconciling the holy place, and the Tabernacle of the assembly, and the altar, he shall bring the live goat: 21 And Aharon shall lay both his hands upon the head of the live goat, and confess over him all the iniquities of the children of Yashar’el, and all their transgressions in all their sins, putting them upon the head of the goat, and shall send him away by the hand of a fit man into the wilderness: 22 And the goat shall bear upon him all their iniquities unto a land not inhabited: and he shall let go the goat in the wilderness. 23 And Aharon shall come into the Tabernacle of the assembly, and shall put off the linen garments, which he put on when he went into the holy place, and shall leave them there: 24 And he shall wash his flesh with water in the holy place, and put on his garments, and come forth, and offer his ascending smoke offering, and the ascending smoke offering of the people, and make an atonement for himself, and for the people. 25 And the fat of the sin offering shall he burn upon the altar. 26 And he that let go the goat for Aza’zel shall wash his clothes, and bathe his flesh in water, and afterward come into the camp. 27 And the bullock for the sin offering, and the goat for the sin offering, whose blood was brought in to make atonement in the holy place, shall one carry forth without the camp; and they shall burn in the fire their skins, and their flesh, and their dung. 28 And he that burns them shall wash his clothes, and bathe his flesh in water, and afterward he shall come into the camp.
29 And this shall be a statute forever unto you: that in the seventh month, on the tenth day of the month, ye shall afflict your souls, and do no work at all, whether it be one of your own country, or a stranger that sojourns among you: 30 For on that day shall the priest make an atonement for you, to cleanse you, that ye may be clean from all your sins before Yahuah. 31 It shall be a Shabbath of rest unto you, and ye shall afflict your souls, by a statute forever. 32 And the priest, whom he shall anoint, and whom he shall consecrate to minister in the priest's office in his father's stead, shall make the atonement, and shall put on the linen clothes, even the holy garments: 33 And he shall make an atonement for the holy sanctuary, and he shall make an atonement for the Tabernacle of the assembly, and for the altar, and he shall make an atonement for the priests, and for all the people of the assembly. 34 And this shall be an everlasting statute unto you, to make an atonement for the children of Yashar’el for all their sins once a year. And he did as Yahuah commanded Mosheh.
Haftorah: Yesha’yahu (Isaiah) 57:14 - 58:14
14 And shall say: Cast ye up, cast ye up, prepare the way, take up the stumbling block out of the way of my people. 15 For thus says the High and Lofty One that inhabits eternity, whose name is Holy; I dwell in the high and holy place, with him also that is of a contrite and humble ruach, to revive the ruach of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite ones. 16 For I will not contend forever, neither will I be always wroth: for the ruach should fail before me, and the souls which I have made. 17 For the iniquity of his covetousness was I wroth, and smote him: I hid me, and was wroth, and he went on frowardly in the way of his heart. 18 I have seen his ways and will heal him: I will lead him also and restore comforts unto him and to his mourners. 19 I create the fruit of the lips; Peace, peace to him that is far off, and to him that is near, says Yahuah; and I will heal him. 20 But the wicked are like the troubled sea, when it cannot rest, whose waters cast up mire and dirt. 21 There is no peace, says my Elohiym, to the wicked.
CHAPTER 58
Cry aloud, spare not, lift up your voice like a shofar, and show my people their transgression, and the house of Ya`aqov their sins. 2 Yet they seek me daily, and delight to know my ways, as a nation that did righteousness, and forsook not the ordinance of their Elohiym: they ask of me the ordinances of justice; they take delight in approaching to Elohiym.
3 Wherefore have we fasted, say they, and you see not? Wherefore have we afflicted our soul, and you take no knowledge? Behold, in the day of your fast ye find pleasure, and exact all your labors. 4 Behold, ye fast for strife and debate, and to smite with the fist of wickedness: ye shall not fast as ye do this day, to make your voice to be heard on high. 5 Is it such a fast that I have chosen? A day for a man to afflict his soul? Is it to bow down his head as a bulrush, and to spread sackcloth and ashes under him? Will you call this a fast, and an acceptable day to Yahuah? 6 Is not this the fast that I have chosen? To loosen the bands of wickedness, to undo the heavy burdens, and to let the oppressed go free, and that ye break every yoke? 7 Is it not to deal your bread to the hungry, and that you bring the poor that are cast out to your house? When you see the naked, that you cover him; and that you hide not yourself from your own flesh?
8 Then shall your light break forth as the morning, and your health shall spring forth speedily: and your righteousness shall go before you; the glory of Yahuah shall be your rearward. 9 Then shall you call, and Yahuah shall answer; you shall cry, and he shall say: Here I am. If you take away from the midst of you the yoke, the putting forth of the finger, and speaking vanity; 10 And if you draw out your soul to the hungry, and satisfy the afflicted soul; then shall your light rise in obscurity, and your darkness be as the noonday: 11 And Yahuah shall guide you continually, and satisfy your soul in drought, and make fat your bones: and you shall be like a watered garden, and like a spring of water, whose waters fail not. 12 And they that shall be of you shall build the old waste places: you shall raise up the foundations of many generations; and you shall be called, The repairer of the breach, The restorer of paths to dwell in.
13 If you turn away your foot from the Shabbath, from doing your pleasure on my holy day; and call the Shabbath a delight, the holy of Yahuah, honorable; and shall honor him, not doing your own ways, nor finding your own pleasure, nor speaking your own words: 14 Then shall you delight yourself in Yahuah; and I will cause you to ride upon the high places of the earth, and feed you with the heritage of Ya`aqov your father: for the mouth of Yahuah has spoken it.
Besorah: Lucas (Luke) 4:1-21
And Yahusha being full of the Ruach Ha’Qodesh returned from the Yardan, and was led by the Ruach into the wilderness, 2 Being forty days tempted of the devil. And in those days, he did eat nothing: and when they were ended, he afterward hungered. 3 And the devil said unto him: If you be the Son of Elohiym, command this stone that it be made bread. 4 And Yahusha answered him, saying: It is written,
That man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of Elohiym.
5 And the devil, taking him up into a high mountain, showed unto him את all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time. 6 And the devil said unto him: All this power will I give you, and the glory of them: for that is delivered unto me; and to whomsoever I will I give it. 7 If you therefore will worship me, all shall be yours. 8 And Yahusha answered and said unto him: Get behind me, Satan: for it is written,
You shall worship Yahuah Elohayka, and him only shall you serve.
9 And he brought him to Yerushalayim, and set him on a pinnacle of the Temple, and said unto him: If you be the Son of Elohiym, cast yourself down from hence: 10 For it is written,
He shall give his angels charge over you, to guard you: 11 And in their hands they shall bear you up, lest at any time you dash your foot against a stone.
12 And Yahusha answering said unto him: It is said,
You shall not tempt את Yahuah Elohayka.
13 And when the devil had ended all the temptation, he departed from him for a season.
14 And Yahusha returned in the power of the Ruach into Galiyl: and there went out a fame of him through all the region round about. 15 And he taught in their synagogues, being glorified of all.
16 And he came to Natsareth, where he had been brought up: and, as his custom was, he went into the synagogue on the Shabbath, and stood up for to read. 17 And there was delivered unto him the cepher of the prophet Yesha`yahu. And when he had opened the cepher, he found the place where it was written:
18 The Ruach Adonai Yahuah is upon me, because he has anointed me to preach the Besorah to the poor; he has sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised, 19 To preach the acceptable year of Yahuah.
20 And he closed the cepher, and he gave it again to the minister, and sat down. And the eyes of all of them that were in the synagogue were fastened on him. 21 And he began to say unto them: This day is this Scripture fulfilled in your ears. 22 And all bore him witness and wondered at the gracious words which proceeded out of his mouth. And they said, Is not this Yoceph’s son? 23 And he said unto them: Ye will surely say unto me this proverb, Physician, heal yourself: whatsoever we have heard done in Kapharnachum, do also here in your country. 24 And he said: Amein I say unto you: No prophet is accepted in his own country. 25 But I tell you of a truth, many widows were in Yashar’el in the days of Eliyahu, when the heavens were shut up three years and six months, when great famine was throughout all the land; 26 But unto none of them was Eliyahu sent, save unto Tsarephath, a city of Tsiydon, unto a woman that was a widow. 27 And many lepers were in Yashar’el in the time of Eliysha the prophet; and none of them was cleansed, saving Na`aman the Arammiy. 28 And all they in the synagogue, when they heard these things, were filled with wrath, 29 And rose up, and thrust him out of the city, and led him unto the brow of the hill whereon their city was built, that they might cast him down headlong. 30 But he, passing through the midst of them went his way, 31 And came down to Kapharnachum, a city of Galiyl, and taught them on the Shabbaths. 32 And they were astonished at his doctrine: for his word was with power.
33 And in the synagogue, there was a man, who had a ruach of an unclean devil, and cried out with a loud voice, 34 Saying: Let us alone; what have we to do with you, Yahusha the Netseriy? Are you come to destroy us? I know who you are; the Holy One of Elohiym. 35 And Yahusha rebuked him, saying: Hold your peace, and come out of him. And when the devil had thrown him in the midst, he came out of him, and hurt him not. 36 And they were all amazed, and spoke among themselves, saying: What a word is this! for with authority and power he commands the unclean ruachoth, and they come out. 37 And the fame of him went out into every place of the country round about.
38 And he arose out of the synagogue and entered into Shim`on's house. And Shim`on's woman's mother was taken with a great fever; and they besought him for her. 39 And he stood over her and rebuked the fever; and it left her: and immediately she arose and ministered unto them.
40 Now when the sun was setting, all they that had any sick with diverse diseases brought them unto him; and he laid his hands on every one of them and healed them. 41 And devils also came out of many, crying out, and saying: You are Mashiach the Son of Elohiym. And he, rebuking them suffered them not to speak for they knew that he was Mashiach. 42 And when it was day, he departed and went into a desert place: and the people sought him, and came unto him, and stayed him, that he should not depart from them. 43 And he said unto them: I must preach the Kingdom of Elohiym to other cities also: for therefore am I sent. 44 And he preached in the synagogues of Galiyl.
