It is considered a great joy to study the Torah via the portions that were set out by Ezra to read through the Cepheriym Mosheh (Five Books of Moses), also referred to as the Pentateuch. In addition to the traditional Torah portions, we have also included weekly readings from the Haftorah (Prophets) and the Besorah (Gospels). These portions are also collectively available in our publication titled Parshat; a hardcover perpetual book for annual study. Parshat: Bere'shiyth (Genesis) 18:1 - 22:24

And Yahuah appeared unto him in the plains of Mamre: and he sat in the tent door in the heat of the day; 2 And he lift up his eyes and looked, and, lo, three men stood by him: and when he saw them, he ran to meet them from the tent door, and bowed himself toward the ground, 3 And said, My Adonai, if now I have found favor in your sight, pass not away, I pray you, from your servant: 4 Let a little water, I pray you, be fetched, and wash your feet, and rest yourselves under the tree: 5 And I will fetch a morsel of bread, and comfort ye your hearts; after that ye shall pass on: for therefore are ye come to your servant. And they said: So do, as you have said. 6 And Avraham hastened into the tent unto El-Sarah and said: Make ready quickly three measures of fine meal, knead it, and make cakes upon the hearth. 7 And Avraham ran unto the herd, and fetched a calf tender and good, and gave it unto a young man; and he hastened to dress it. 8 And he took butter, and milk, and the calf which he had dressed, and set it before them; and he stood by them under the tree, and they did eat.

9 And they said unto him: Where is Sarah your woman? And he said: Behold, in the tent. 10 And he said, I will certainly return unto you according to the time of life; and, lo, Sarah your woman shall have a son. And Sarah heard it in the tent door, which was behind him. 11 Now Avraham and Sarah were old and well stricken in age; and it ceased to be with Sarah after the manner of women. 12 Therefore Sarah laughed within herself, saying: After I am waxed old shall I have pleasure, my adoniy being old also? 13 And Yahuah said unto El-Avraham: Wherefore did Sarah laugh, saying: Shall I of a surety bear a child, which am old? 14 Is anything too hard for Yahuah? At the time appointed I will return unto you, according to the time of life, and Sarah shall have a son. 15 Then Sarah denied, saying: I laughed not; for she was afraid. And he said, Nay; but you did laugh.

16 And the men rose up from thence and looked toward Cedom: and Avraham went with them to bring them on the way. 17 And Yahuah said, Shall I hide from Avraham that thing which I do; 18 Seeing that Avraham shall surely become a great and mighty nation, and all the nations of the earth shall be blessed in him? 19 For I know him, that he will command his children and his household after him, and they shall guard the Way of Yahuah, to do justice and judgment; that Yahuah may bring upon Avraham את that which he has spoken of him. 20 And Yahuah said: Because the cry of Cedom and Amorah is great, and because their sin is very grievous; 21 I will go down now and see whether they have done altogether according to the cry of it, which is come unto me; and if not, I will know. 22 And the men turned their faces from thence and went toward Cedom: but Avraham stood yet before Yahuah.

23 And Avraham drew near, and said: Will you also destroy the righteous with the wicked? 24 Perchance there be fifty righteous within the city: will you also destroy and not spare the place for the fifty righteous that are therein? 25 That be far from you to do after this manner, to slay the righteous with the wicked: and that the righteous should be as the wicked, that be far from you: Shall not the Judge of all the earth do right? 26 And Yahuah said, If I find in Cedom fifty righteous within the city, then I will spare all the place for their sakes. 27 And Avraham answered and said: Behold now, I have taken upon me to speak unto Adonai, which am but dust and ashes: 28 Perchance there shall lack five of the fifty righteous: will you destroy all the city for lack of five? And he said, If I find there forty and five, I will not destroy it. 29 And he spoke unto him yet again and said: Perchance there shall be forty found there. And he said, I will not do it for forty's sake. 30 And he said unto him: Oh, let not Adonai be angry, and I will speak: Perchance there shall thirty be found there. And he said, I will not do it, if I find thirty there. 31 And he said: Behold now, I have taken upon me to speak unto Yahuah: Perchance there shall be twenty found there. And he said, I will not destroy it for twenty's sake. 32 And he said: Oh let not Adonai be angry, and I will speak yet but this once: Perchance ten shall be found there. And he said, I will not destroy it for ten's sake. 33 And Yahuah went his way, as soon as he had left communing with El-Avraham: and Avraham returned unto his place.

CHAPTER 19

And there came two angels to Cedom at even; and Lot sat in the gate of Cedom: and Lot seeing them rose up to meet them; and he bowed himself with his face toward the ground; 2 And he said: Behold now, my adoniym, turn in, I pray you, into your servant's house, and tarry all night, and wash your feet, and ye shall rise up early, and go on your ways. And they said, Nay; but we will abide in the street all night. 3 And he pressed upon them greatly; and they turned in unto him and entered into his house; and he made them a feast, and did bake matstsah, and they did eat.

4 But before they lay down, the men of the city, even the men of Cedom, compassed the house round, both old and young, all the people from every quarter: 5 And they called unto Lot, and said unto him: Where are the men which came in to you this night? Bring them out unto us, that we may know them. 6 And Lot went out at the door unto them, and shut the door after him, 7 And said, I pray you, brethren, do not so wickedly. 8 Behold now, I have two daughters which have not known man; let me, I pray you, bring them out unto you, and do ye to them as is good in your eyes: only unto these men do nothing; for therefore came they under the shadow of my roof. 9 And they said, Stand back. And they said again: This one fellow came in to sojourn, and he will need to be a judge: now will we deal worse with you, than with them. And they pressed sore upon the man, even Lot, and came near to break the door. 10 But the men put forth their hand, and pulled Lot into the house to them, and shut to the door. 11 And they smote the men that were at the door of the house with blindness, both small and great: so that they wearied themselves to find the door.

12 And the men said unto Lot: Have you here any besides? Son in law, and your sons, and your daughters, and whatsoever you have in the city, bring them out of this place: 13 For we will destroy this place, because the cry of them is waxen great before the face of Yahuah; and Yahuah has sent us to destroy it. 14 And Lot went out, and spoke unto his sons in law, which married his daughters, and said: Up, get you out of this place; for Yahuah will destroy this city. But he seemed as one that mocked unto his sons in law.

15 And when the morning arose, then the angels hastened Lot, saying: Arise, take your woman, and your two daughters, which are here; lest you be consumed in the iniquity of the city. 16 And while he lingered, the men laid hold upon his hand, and upon the hand of his woman, and upon the hand of his two daughters; Yahuah being merciful unto him: and they brought him forth and set him without the city.

17 And it came to pass, when they had brought them forth abroad, that he said: Escape for your life; look not behind you, neither stay in all the circle of the Yardan; escape to the mountain, lest you be consumed. 18 And Lot said unto them: Oh, not so, my Adonai: 19 Behold now, your servant has found grace in your sight, and you have magnified your mercy, which you have showed unto me in saving my life; and I cannot escape to the mountain, lest some evil take me, and I die: 20 Behold now, this city is near to flee unto, and it is a little one: Oh, let me escape thither, (is it not a little one?) and my soul shall live. 21 And he said unto him: See, I have accepted you concerning this thing also, that I will not overthrow this city, for which you have spoken. 22 Make haste, escape thither; for I cannot do anything till you are come thither. Therefore the name of the city was called Tso`ar.

23 The sun was risen upon the earth when Lot entered into Tso`ar. 24 Then Yahuah rained upon Cedom and upon Amorah brimstone and fire from Yahuah out of the heavens; 25 And he overthrew those cities, and all the circle of the Yardan, and all the inhabitants of the cities, and that which grew upon the ground.

26 But his woman looked back from behind him, and she became a pillar of salt.

27 And Avraham got up early in the morning to the place where he stood before Yahuah: 28 And he looked toward Cedom and Amorah, and toward all the land of the circle of the Yardan, and beheld, and, lo, the smoke of the country went up as the smoke of a furnace.

29 And it came to pass, when Elohiym destroyed the cities of the circle of the Yardan, that Elohiym remembered Avraham, and sent Lot out of the midst of the overthrow, when he overthrew the cities in which Lot dwelt.

30 And Lot went up out of Tso`ar, and dwelt in the mountain, and his two daughters with him; for he feared to dwell in Tso`ar: and he dwelt in a cave, he and his two daughters. 31 And the firstborn said unto the younger: Our father is old, and there is not a man in the earth to come in unto us after the manner of all the earth: 32 Come, let us make our father drink wine, and we will lie with him, that we may preserve seed of our father. 33 And they made their father drink wine that night: and the firstborn went in and lay with her father; and he perceived not when she lay down, nor when she arose. 34 And it came to pass on the morrow, that the firstborn said unto the younger: Behold, I lay yesternight with my father: let us make him drink wine this night also; and go in, and lie with him, that we may preserve seed of our father. 35 And they made their father drink wine that night also: and the younger arose and lay with him; and he perceived not when she lay down, nor when she arose. 36 Thus were both the daughters of Lot with child by their father. 37 And the firstborn bore a son and called his name Mo'av: the same is the father of the Mo'aviym unto this day. 38 And the younger, she also bore a son, and called his name Ben-Ammiy: the same is the father of the children of Ammon unto this day.

CHAPTER 20

And Avraham journeyed from thence toward the country of the Negev, and dwelt between Qadesh and Shur, and sojourned in Gerar. 2 And Avraham said of El-Sarah his woman: She is my sister: and Aviymelek king of Gerar sent and took Sarah. 3 But Elohiym came to Aviymelek in a dream by night, and said to him: Behold, you are but a dead man, for the woman which you have taken; for she is a man's woman. 4 But Aviymelek had not come near her: and he said, Adonai, will you slay also a righteous nation? 5 Said he not unto me: She is my sister? And she, even she herself said: He is my brother: in the integrity of my heart and innocence of my hands have I done this. 6 And Elohiym said unto him in a dream: Yea, I know that you did this in the integrity of your heart; for I also withheld you from sinning against me: therefore suffered I you not to touch her. 7 Now therefore restore the man his woman; for he is a prophet, and he shall pray for you, and you shall live: and if you restore her not, know you that you shall surely die, you, and all that are yours. 8 Therefore Aviymelek rose early in the morning, and called all his servants, and told all these things in their ears: and the men were sore afraid. 9 Then Aviymelek called Avraham, and said unto him: What have you done unto us? And what have I offended you, that you have brought on me and on my kingdom a great sin? You have done deeds unto me that ought not to be done. 10 And Aviymelek said unto El-Avraham: What saw you, that you have done this thing? 11 And Avraham said: Because I thought, Surely the fear of Elohiym is not in this place; and they will slay me for my woman's sake. 12 And yet indeed she is my sister; she is the daughter of my father, but not the daughter of my mother; and she became my woman. 13 And it came to pass, when Elohiym caused me to wander from my father's house, that I said unto her: This is your kindness which you shall show unto me; at every place whither we shall come, say of me: He is my brother. 14 And Aviymelek took sheep, and oxen, and menservants, and women servants, and gave them unto Avraham, and restored him את Sarah his woman. 15 And Aviymelek said: Behold, my land is before you: dwell where it pleases you. 16 And unto Sarah he said: Behold, I have given your brother a thousand pieces of silver: behold, he is to you a covering of the eyes, unto all that are with you, and with all other: thus she was reproved.

17 So Avraham prayed unto Elohiym: and Elohiym healed Aviymelek, and his woman, and his maidservants; and they bore children. 18 For Yahuah had fast closed up all the wombs of the house of Aviymelek, because of Sarah Avraham's woman.

CHAPTER 21

And Yahuah visited Sarah as he had said, and Yahuah did unto Sarah as he had spoken. 2 For Sarah conceived, and bore Avraham a son in his old age, at the set time of which Elohiym had spoken to him. 3 And Avraham called the name of his son that was born unto him, whom Sarah bore to him, Yitschaq. 4 And Avraham circumcised his son Yitschaq being eight days old, as Elohiym had commanded him. 5 And Avraham was a hundred years old, when his son Yitschaq was born את unto him.

6 And Sarah said, Elohiym has made me to laugh, so that all that hear will laugh with me. 7 And she said: Who would have said unto Avraham, that Sarah should have given children suck? For I have born him a son in his old age. 8 And the child grew and was weaned: and Avraham made a great feast the same day that Yitschaq was weaned.

9 And Sarah saw the son of Ha'ger the Mitsriym, which she had born unto Avraham, mocking. 10 Wherefore she said unto Avraham: Cast out this bondwoman and her son: for the son of this bondwoman shall not be heir with my son, even with Yitschaq. 11 And the thing was very grievous in Avraham's sight because of his son.

12 And Elohiym said unto El-Avraham: Let it not be grievous in your sight because of the lad, and because of your bondwoman; in all that Sarah has said unto you, hearken unto her voice; for in Yitschaq shall your seed be called. 13 And also of the son of the bondwoman will I make a nation, because he is your seed. 14 And Avraham rose up early in the morning, and took bread, and a bottle of water, and gave it unto Ha'ger, putting it on her shoulder, and the child, and sent her away: and she departed, and wandered in the wilderness of Be`er Sheva. 15 And the water was spent in the bottle, and she cast the child under one of the shrubs. 16 And she went and sat her down over against him a good way off, as it were a bowshot: for she said: Let me not see the death of the child. And she sat over against him, and lift up her voice, and wept. 17 And Elohiym heard the voice of the lad; and the angel of Elohiym called to Ha'ger out of the heavens, and said unto her: What ails you, Ha'ger? Fear not; for Elohiym has heard the voice of the lad where he is. 18 Arise, lift up the lad, and hold him in your hand; for I will make him a great nation. 19 And Elohiym opened her eyes, and she saw a well of water; and she went, and filled the bottle with water, and gave the lad drink. 20 And Elohiym was with the lad; and he grew, and dwelt in the wilderness, and became an archer. 21 And he dwelt in the wilderness of Pa'ran: and his mother took him a woman out of the land of Mitsrayim.

22 And it came to pass at that time, that Aviymelek and Piykol the chief captain of his host spoke unto El-Avraham, saying: Elohiym is with you in all that you do: 23 Now therefore swear seven oaths unto me here by Elohiym that you will not deal falsely with me, nor with my son, nor with my son's son: but according to the kindness that I have done unto you, you shall do unto me, and to the land wherein you have sojourned. 24 And Avraham said, I will swear seven oaths. 25 And Avraham reproved Aviymelek because of a well of water, which Aviymelek's servants had violently taken away. 26 And Aviymelek said, I know not who has done this thing: neither did you tell me, neither yet heard I of it, but today. 27 And Avraham took sheep and oxen and gave them unto Aviymelek; and both of them cut a covenant. 28 And Avraham set seven ewe lambs of the flock by themselves. 29 And Aviymelek said unto El-Avraham: What means these seven ewe lambs which you have set by themselves? 30 And he said: For these seven ewe lambs shall you take of my hand, that they may be a witness unto me, that I have dug this well. 31 Wherefore he called that place Be`er Sheva; because there they swore seven oaths, both of them. 32 Thus they cut a covenant at Be`er Sheva: then Aviymelek rose up, and Piykol the chief captain of his host, and they returned into the land of the Pelishtiym.

33 And Avraham planted a grove in Be`er Sheva, and called there on the name of Yahuah, El Olam. 34 And Avraham sojourned in the Pelishtiym's land many days.

CHAPTER 22

And it came to pass after these things, that Elohiym did try Avraham, and said unto him: Avraham: and he said: Behold, here I am. 2 And he said: Take now your son, your yachiyd Yitschaq, whom you love, and get you into the land of Moriyah; and offer him there as an ascending smoke offering upon one of the mountains which I will tell you of.

3 And Avraham rose up early in the morning, and saddled his ass, and took two of his young men with him, and את Yitschaq his son, and clave the wood for the ascending smoke offering, and rose up, and went unto the place of which Elohiym had told him. 4 Then on the third day Avraham lifted up his eyes and saw the place afar off. 5 And Avraham said unto his young men: Abide ye here with the ass; and I and the lad will go yonder and worship and come again to you. 6 And Avraham took the wood of the ascending smoke offering and laid it upon Yitschaq his son; and he took the fire in his hand, and a knife; and they went both of them together. 7 And Yitschaq spoke unto El-Avraham his father and said: My father; and he said: Here am I, my son. And he said: Behold the fire and the wood: but where is the lamb for an ascending smoke offering? 8 And Avraham said: My son, Elohiym will provide himself a lamb for an ascending smoke offering: so they went both of them together. 9 And they came to the place which Elohiym had told him of; and Avraham built an altar there, and laid the wood in order, and bound Yitschaq his son, and laid him on the altar upon the wood. 10 And Avraham stretched forth his hand and took the knife to slay his son. 11 And the angel of Yahuah called unto him out of the heavens, and said: Avraham, Avraham; and he said: Here am I. 12 And he said: Lay not your hand upon the lad, neither do you anything unto him: for now I know that you fear Elohiym, seeing you have not withheld your son, your yachiyd from me. 13 And Avraham lifted up his eyes, and looked, and behold behind him a ram caught in a thicket by his horns: and Avraham went and took the ram and offered him up for an ascending smoke offering in the stead of his son. 14 And Avraham called the name of that place Yahuah Yireh: as it is said to this day, In the Mount of Yahuah it shall be seen.

15 And the angel of Yahuah called unto El-Avraham out of the heavens the second time, 16 And said: By myself have I sworn seven oaths, says Yahuah, for because you have done this thing, and have not withheld your son, your yachiyd: 17 That in blessing I will bless you, and in multiplying I will multiply your seed as the stars of the heavens, and as the sand which is upon the sea shore; and your seed את shall possess the gate of his enemies; 18 And in your seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed; because you have obeyed my voice. 19 So Avraham returned unto his young men, and they rose up and went together to Be`er Sheva; and Avraham dwelt at Be`er Sheva.

20 And it came to pass after these things, that it was told Avraham, saying: Behold, Milkah, she has also born children unto your brother Nachor; 21 Huz his firstborn, and Buz his brother, and Qemu'el the father of Aram, 22 And Kesed, and Chazo, and Pildash, and Yidlaph, and את Bethu'el. 23 And Bethu'el begat Rivqah: these eight Milkah did bear to Nachor, Avraham's brother. 24 And his concubine, whose name was Re'umah, she bore also Tevah, and Gaham, and Thahash, and Ma`akah.

Haftorah: Melekiym Sheniy (2 Kings) 4:1-37

Now there cried a certain woman of the women of the sons of the prophets unto Eliysha, saying: Your servant my man is dead; and you know that your servant did fear Yahuah: and the creditor is come to take unto him my two sons to be bondmen. 2 And Eliysha said unto her: What shall I do for you? Tell me, what have you in the house? And she said: Your handmaid has not anything in the house, save a pot of oil. 3 Then he said: Go, borrow vessels abroad of all your neighbors, even empty vessels; borrow not a few. 4 And when you are come in, you shall shut the door upon you and upon your sons, and shall pour out into all those vessels, and you shall set aside that which is full. 5 So she went from him and shut the door upon her and upon her sons, who brought the vessels to her; and she poured out. 6 And it came to pass, when the vessels were full, that she said unto her son: Bring me yet a vessel. And he said unto her: There is not a vessel more. And the oil stayed. 7 Then she came and told the man of Elohiym. And he said: Go, sell the oil, and pay your debt, and live you and your children of the rest.

8 And it fell on a day, that Eliysha passed to Shunem, where was a great woman; and she constrained him to eat bread. And so it was, that as oft as he passed by, he turned in thither to eat bread. 9 And she said unto her man: Behold now, I perceive that this is a qodeshiy of Elohiym, which passes by us continually. 10 Let us make a little chamber, I pray you, on the wall; and let us set for him there a bed, and a table, and a stool, and a menorah: and it shall be, when he comes to us, that he shall turn in thither. 11 And it fell on a day, that he came thither, and he turned into the chamber, and lay there. 12 And he said to Geychaziy his servant: Call this Shunammiyth. And when he had called her, she stood before him. 13 And he said unto him: Say now unto her: Behold, you have been careful for us with all this care; what is to be done for you? Would you be spoken for to the king, or to the captain of the host? And she answered, I dwell among my own people. 14 And he said: What then is to be done for her? And Geychaziy answered: Truly she has no child, and her man is old. 15 And he said: Call her. And when he had called her, she stood in the door. 16 And he said: About this season, according to the time of life, you shall embrace a son. And she said, Nay, my el-adoniy, man of Elohiym, do not lie unto your handmaid. 17 And the woman conceived and bore a son at that season that Eliysha had said unto her, according to the time of life.

18 And when the child was grown, it fell on a day, that he went out to his father to the reapers. 19 And he said unto his father, My head, my head. And he said to a lad: Carry him to his mother. 20 And when he had taken him, and brought him to his mother, he sat on her knees till noon, and then died. 21 And she went up and laid him on the bed of the man of Elohiym, and shut the door upon him, and went out. 22 And she called unto her man, and said: Send me, I pray you, one of the young men, and one of the asses, that I may run to the man of Elohiym, and come again. 23 And he said: Wherefore will you go to him today? It is neither New Moon, nor Shabbath. And she said: It shall be well. 24 Then she saddled an ass, and said to her servant: Drive, and go forward; slack not your riding for me, except I bid you. 25 So she went and came unto the man of Elohiym to Mount Karmel. And it came to pass, when the man of Elohiym saw her afar off, that he said to Geychaziy his servant: Behold, yonder is that Shunammiyth: 26 Run now, I pray you, to meet her, and say unto her, Is it well with you? Is it well with your man? Is it well with the child? And she answered: It is well. 27 And when she came to the man of Elohiym to the hill, she caught him by the feet: but Geychaziy came near to thrust her away. And the man of Elohiym said: Let her alone; for her soul is vexed within her: and Yahuah has hid it from me and has not told me. 28 Then she said: Did I desire a son of my adoniy? Did I not say: Do not deceive me? 29 Then he said to Geychaziy: Gird up your loins, and take my staff in your hand, and go your way: if you meet any man, salute him not; and if any salute you, answer him not again: and lay my staff upon the face of the child. 30 And the mother of the child said, As Yahuah lives, and as your soul lives, I will not leave you. And he arose and followed her. 31 And Geychaziy passed on before them and laid the staff upon the face of the child; but there was neither voice, nor hearing. Wherefore he went again to meet him, and told him, saying: The child is not awake. 32 And when Eliysha was come into the house, behold, the child was dead, and laid upon his bed. 33 He went in therefore, and shut the door upon them two, and prayed unto Yahuah. 34 And he went up, and lay upon the child, and put his mouth upon his mouth, and his eyes upon his eyes, and his hands upon his hands: and he stretched himself upon the child; and the flesh of the child waxed warm. 35 Then he returned and walked in the house to and fro; and went up and stretched himself upon him: and the child sneezed seven times, and the child opened his eyes. 36 And he called Geychaziy and said: Call this Shunammiyth. So he called her. And when she was come in unto him, he said: Take up your son. 37 Then she went in, and fell at his feet, and bowed herself to the ground, and took up her son, and went out.

Besorah: Luqas (Luke) 2:1-38

And it came to pass in those days, that there went out a decree from Qeycar Augustus, that all the world should be taxed. 2 (And this taxing was first made when Quriyniyuc was governor of Aram.) 3 And all went to be taxed, everyone into his own city. 4 And Yoceph also went up from Galiyl, out of the city of Natsareth, into Yahud, unto the city of David, which is called Beyt Lechem; (because he was of the house and lineage of David:) 5 To be taxed with Miryam his espoused woman, being great with child. 6 And so it was, that, while they were there, the days were accomplished that she should be delivered. 7 And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a cukkah; because there was no room for them in the inn. 8 And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night. 9 And, lo, the angel of Yah came upon them, and the glory of Yahuah shone round about them: and they were sore afraid. 10 And the angel said unto them: Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good news of great joy, which shall be to all people. 11 For unto you is born this day a Savior, the Mashiach of Yahuah in the city of David. 12 And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a cukkah. 13 And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising Elohiym and saying: 14 Glory to Elohiym in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men. 15 And it came to pass, as the angels were gone away from them into heaven, the shepherds said one to another: Let us now go even unto Beyt Lechem, and see this thing which is come to pass, which Yahuah has made known unto us. 16 And they came with haste, and found Miryam, and Yoceph, and the babe lying in a cukkah. 17 And when they had seen it, they made known abroad the saying which was told them concerning this child. 18 And all they that heard it wondered at those things which were told them by the shepherds. 19 But Miryam kept all these things and pondered them in her heart. 20 And the shepherds returned, glorifying and praising Elohiym for all the things that they had heard and seen, as it was told unto them. 21 And when eight days were accomplished for the circumcising of the child, his name was called Yahusha, which was so named of the angel before he was conceived in the womb. 22 And when the days of her purification according to the Torah of Mosheh were accomplished, they brought him to Yerushalayim, to present him to Yahuah; 23 (As it is written in the statutes of Yahuah, Every male that opens the womb shall be called holy to Yahuah;)

24 And to offer a sacrifice according to that which is said in the statutes of Yahuah: A pair of turtledoves, or two young pigeons. 25 And, behold, there was a man in Yerushalayim, whose name was Shim`on; and the same man was just and devout, waiting for the consolation of Yashar’el: and the Ruach Ha’Qodesh was upon him. 26 And it was revealed unto him by the Ruach Ha’Qodesh, that he should not see death, before he had seen Yahuah’s Mashiach. 27 And he came by the Ruach into the Temple: and when the parents brought in the child Yahusha, to do for him according to the customary practices of the Torah, 28 Then took he him up in his arms, and blessed Elohiym, and said, 29 Yahuah, now let your servant depart in peace, according to your word: 30 For my eyes have seen your yeshu`ah, 31 Which you have prepared before the face of all people; 32 A light to lighten the other nations, and the glory of your people Yashar’el. 33 And Yoceph and his mother marveled at those things which were spoken of him. 34 And Shim`on blessed them, and said unto Miryam his mother: Behold, this child is set for the fall and rising again of many in Yashar’el; and for a sign which shall be spoken against; 35 (Yea, a sword shall pierce through your own soul also,) that the thoughts of many hearts may be revealed. 36 And there was one Channah, a prophetess, the daughter of Penu’el, of the tribe of Asher: she was of a great age and had lived with a man seven years from her virginity; 37 And she was a widow of about fourscore and four years, which departed not from the Temple, but served Elohiym with fastings and prayers night and day. 38 And she, coming in that instant gave thanks likewise unto Yahuah, and spoke of him to all them that looked for redemption in Yerushalayim.
