Weekly Torah Portion

It is considered a great joy to study the Torah via the portions that were set out by Ezra to read through the Cepheriym Mosheh (Five Books of Moses), also referred to as the Pentateuch. In addition to the traditional Torah portions, we have also included weekly readings from the Haftorah (Prophets) and the Besorah (Gospels). These portions are also collectively available in our publication titled Parshat; a hardcover perpetual book for annual study. Parshat: Devariym (Deuteronomy) 7:12 - 11:25

Wherefore it shall come to pass, if ye hearken את to these judgments, and guard, and do them, that Yahuah Elohayka shall guard unto you the covenant and the mercy which he swore seven oaths unto your fathers: 13 And he will love you, and bless you, and multiply you: he will also bless the fruit of your womb, and the fruit of your land, your grain, and your wine, and your oil, the increase of your kine, and the flocks of your sheep, in the land which he swore seven oaths unto your fathers to give you. 14 You shall be blessed above all people: there shall not be male or female barren among you, or among your cattle. 15 And Yahuah will take away from you all sickness and will put none of the evil diseases of Mitsrayim, which you know, upon you; but will lay them upon all of them that hate you. 16 And you shall consume all the people which Yahuah Elohayka shall deliver you; your eye shall have no pity upon them: neither shall you serve their elohiym; for that will be a snare unto you. 17 If you shall say in your heart: These nations are more than I; how can I dispossess them? 18 You shall not be afraid of them: but shall well remember את what Yahuah Elohayka did unto Phar`oh, and unto all Mitsrayim; 19 The great temptations which your eyes saw, and the signs, and the wonders, and the mighty hand, and the stretched-out arm, whereby Yahuah Elohayka brought you out: so shall Yahuah Elohayka do unto all the people of whom you are afraid.

20 Moreover Yahuah Elohayka will send the hornet among them, until they that are left, and hide themselves from you, be destroyed. 21 You shall not be frightened at them: for Yahuah Elohayka is among you, a mighty El and terrible. 22 And Yahuah Elohayka will put out those nations before you by little and little: you may not consume them at once, lest the beasts of the field increase upon you. 23 But Yahuah Elohayka shall deliver them unto you, and shall destroy them with a mighty destruction, until they be destroyed. 24 And he shall deliver their kings into your hand, and you shall destroy their name from under heaven: there shall no man be able to stand before you, until you have destroyed them. 25 The graven images of their elohiym shall ye burn with fire: you shall not desire the silver or gold that is on them, nor take it unto you, lest you be snared therein: for it is an abomination to Yahuah Elohayka. 26 Neither shall you bring an abomination into your house, lest you be a cursed thing like it: but you shall utterly detest it, and you shall utterly abhor it; for it is a cursed thing.

CHAPTER 8

All the commandments which I command you this day shall ye guard to do, that ye may live, and multiply, and go in and possess the land which Yahuah swore seven oaths unto your fathers. 2 And you shall remember all the way which Yahuah Elohayka led you these forty years in the wilderness, to humble you, and to prove you, to know what was in your heart, whether you would guard his commandments, or no. 3 And he humbled you, and suffered you to hunger, and fed you with manna, which you knew not, neither did your fathers know; that he might make you know that man does not live by bread only, but by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of Yahuah man lives. 4 Your raiment waxed not old upon you, neither did your foot swell, these forty years. 5 You shall also consider in your heart, that, as a man chastens his son, so Yahuah Elohayka chastens you. 6 Therefore you shall guard the commandments of Yahuah Elohayka, to walk in his ways, and to fear him. 7 For Yahuah Elohayka brings you into a good land, a land of brooks of water, of fountains and depths that spring out of valleys and hills; 8 A land of wheat, and barley, and vines, and fig trees, and pomegranates; a land of oil olive, and honey; 9 A land wherein you shall eat bread without scarceness, you shall not lack anything in it; a land whose stones are iron, and out of whose hills you may dig brass.

10 When you have eaten and are full, then you shall bless Yahuah Elohayka for the good land which he has given you. 11 Beware that you forget not Yahuah Elohayka, in not guarding his commandments, and his judgments, and his statutes, which I command you this day: 12 Lest when you have eaten and are full, and have built goodly houses, and dwelt therein; 13 And when your herds and your flocks multiply, and your silver and your gold is multiplied, and all that you have is multiplied; 14 Then your heart be lifted up, and you forget Yahuah Elohayka, which brought you forth out of the land of Mitsrayim, from the house of bondage; 15 Who led you through that great and terrible wilderness, wherein were fiery serpents, and scorpions, and drought, where there was no water; who brought you forth water out of the rock of flint; 16 Who fed you in the wilderness with manna, which your fathers knew not, that he might humble you, and that he might prove you, to do you good at your latter end; 17 And you say in your heart, My power and the might of my hand has gotten me this wealth. 18 But you shall remember Yahuah Elohayka: for it is he who gives you power to get wealth, that he may establish his covenant which he swore seven oaths unto your fathers, as it is this day.

19 And it shall be, if you do at all forget Yahuah Elohayka, and walk after other elohiym, and serve them, and worship them, I testify against you this day that ye shall surely perish. 20 As the nations which Yahuah destroys before your face, so shall ye perish, because ye would not be obedient unto the voice of Yahuah Elohaykem.

CHAPTER 9

Hear, O Yashar’el: You are to pass over the Yardan this day, to go in to possess nations greater and mightier than yourself, cities great and fenced up to heaven, 2 A people great and tall, the children of the Anaqiym, whom you know, and of whom you have heard say: Who can stand before the children of Anaq! 3 Understand therefore this day, that Yahuah Elohayka is he which goes over before you; as a consuming fire he shall destroy them, and he shall bring them down before your face: so shall you drive them out, and destroy them quickly, as Yahuah has said unto you.

4 Speak not in your heart, after that Yahuah Elohayka has cast them out from before you, saying: For my righteousness Yahuah has brought me in to possess this land: but for the wickedness of these nations Yahuah drives them out from before you. 5 Not for your righteousness, or for the uprightness of your heart, do you go to possess their land: but for the wickedness of these nations Yahuah Elohayka drives them out from before you, and that he may perform the word which Yahuah swore seven oaths unto your fathers, Avraham, Yitschaq, and Ya`aqov. 6 Understand therefore, that Yahuah Elohayka gives you not this good land to possess it for your righteousness; for you are a stiff-necked people.

7 Remember, and forget not, את how you provoked Yahuah Elohayka to wrath in the wilderness: from the day that you did depart out of the land of Mitsrayim, until ye came unto this place, ye have been rebellious against Yahuah. 8 Also in Chorev ye provoked Yahuah to wrath, so that Yahuah was angry with you to have destroyed you. 9 When I was gone up into the mount to receive the caphire stones, even the caphires of the covenant which Yahuah cut with you, then I abode in the mount forty days and forty nights, I neither did eat bread nor drink water: 10 And Yahuah delivered unto me two caphire stones written with the finger of Elohiym; and on them was written according to all the words, which Yahuah spoke with you in the Mount out of the midst of the fire in the day of the assembly.

11 And it came to pass at the end of forty days and forty nights, that Yahuah gave me the two caphire stones, even the caphires of the covenant. 12 And Yahuah said unto me: Arise, get you down quickly from hence, for your people which you have brought forth out of Mitsrayim have corrupted themselves; they are quickly turned aside out of the way which I commanded them; they have made them a molten image. 13 Furthermore Yahuah spoke unto me, saying: I have seen this people, and behold, it is a stiff-necked people: 14 Let me alone, that I may destroy them, and blot out their name from under heaven: and I will make of you a nation mightier and greater than they. 15 So I turned and came down from the Mount, and the Mount burned with fire: and the two caphires of the covenant were in my two hands. 16 And I looked, and behold, ye had sinned against Yahuah Elohaykem, and had made you a molten calf: ye had turned aside quickly out of the way which Yahuah had commanded you. 17 And I took the two caphires, and cast them out of my two hands, and broke them before your eyes. 18 And I fell down before Yahuah, as at the first, forty days and forty nights: I did neither eat bread, nor drink water, because of all your sins which ye sinned, in doing wickedly in the sight of Yahuah, to provoke him to anger. 19 For I was afraid of the anger and hot displeasure, wherewith Yahuah was wroth against you to destroy you. But Yahuah hearkened unto me at that time also.

20 And Yahuah was very angry with Aharon to have destroyed him: and I prayed for Aharon also the same time. 21 And I took your sin, the calf which ye had made, and burnt it with fire, and stamped it, and ground it very small, even until it was as small as dust: and I cast the dust thereof into the brook that descended out of the Mount. 22 And at Tav`erah, and at Maccah, and at Qivrot Hat-Ta’avah, ye provoked Yahuah to wrath. 23 Likewise when Yahuah sent you from Qadesh Barnea, saying: Go up and possess the land which I have given you; then ye rebelled against the commandment of Yahuah Elohaykem, and ye believed him not, nor hearkened to his voice. 24 Ye have been rebellious against Yahuah from the day that I knew you. 25 Thus I fell down before Yahuah את forty days and forty nights, as I fell down at the first; because Yahuah had said he would destroy you. 26 I prayed therefore unto El-Yahuah, and said,

O Adonai Yahuah, destroy not your people and your inheritance, which you have redeemed through your greatness, which you have brought forth out of Mitsrayim with a mighty hand. 27 Remember your servants, Avraham, Yitschaq, and Ya`aqov; look not unto the stubbornness of this people, nor to their wickedness, nor to their sin: 28 Lest the land whence you brought us out say: Because Yahuah was not able to bring them into the land which he promised them, and because he hated them, he has brought them out to slay them in the wilderness. 29 Yet they are your people and your inheritance, which you brought out by your mighty power and by your stretched out arm.

CHAPTER 10

At that time Yahuah said unto me: Hew you two caphire stones like unto the first, and come up unto me into the Mount, and make you an Ark of wood. 2 And I will write on the caphires the words that were in the first caphires which you broke, and you shall put them in the Ark. 3 And I made an Ark of shittiym wood, and hewed two caphire stones like unto the first, and went up into the Mount, having the two caphires in my hand. 4 And he wrote on the caphires, according to the first writing, את the Ten Devariym, which Yahuah spoke unto you in the Mount out of the midst of the fire in the day of the assembly: and Yahuah gave them unto me. 5 And I turned myself and came down from the Mount and put the caphires in the Ark which I had made; and there they be, as Yahuah commanded me.

6 And the children of Yashar’el took their journey from Be`eroth Beney-Ya`aqan to Mocerah: there Aharon died, and there he was buried; and El`azar his son ministered in the priest's office in his stead. 7 From thence they journeyed unto Gudgodah; and from Gudgodah to Yotvathah, a land of rivers of waters.

8 At that time Yahuah separated the tribe of Leviy, to bear the Ark of the Covenant of Yahuah, to stand before Yahuah to minister unto him, and to bless in his name, unto this day. 9 Wherefore Leviy has no part nor inheritance with his brethren; Yahuah is his inheritance, according as Yahuah Elohayka promised him. 10 And I stayed in the Mount, according to the first time, forty days and forty nights; and Yahuah hearkened unto me at that time also, and Yahuah would not destroy you. 11 And Yahuah said unto me: Arise, take your journey before the people, that they may go in and possess the land, which I swore seven oaths unto their fathers to give unto them.

12 And now, Yashar’el, what does Yahuah Elohayka require of you, but to fear Yahuah Elohayka, to walk in all his ways, and to love him, and to serve Yahuah Elohayka with all your heart and with all your soul, 13 To guard the commandments of Yahuah, and his statutes, which I command you this day for your good? 14 Behold, the heavens and the heaven of heavens belongs to Yahuah Elohayka, the earth also, with all that therein is. 15 Only Yahuah had a delight in your fathers to love them, and he chose their seed after them, even you above all people, as it is this day. 16 Circumcise therefore את the foreskin of your heart, and be no more stiff-necked. 17 For Yahuah Elohaykem is Elohai ha’elohiym, and Adonai ha’adoniym, the great El, the mighty, and the terrible, which regards not persons, nor takes reward: 18 He executes the judgment of the fatherless and widow, and loves the stranger, in giving him food and raiment.

19 Love ye therefore the stranger: for ye were strangers in the land of Mitsrayim. 20 You shall fear Yahuah Elohayka; him shall you serve, and to him shall you cleave, and swear seven oaths by his name. 21 He is your praise, and he is your Elohiym, that has done for you these great and terrible things, which your eyes have seen. 22 Your fathers went down into Mitsrayim with threescore and ten persons; and now Yahuah Elohayka has made you as the stars of heaven for multitude.

CHAPTER 11

Therefore you shall love את Yahuah Elohayka, and guard his watch, and his statutes, and his judgments, and his commandments, always. 2 And know ye this day: for I speak not with your children which have not known, and which have not seen the chastisement of Yahuah Elohaykem, his greatness, his mighty hand, and his stretched out arm, 3 And his miracles, and his acts, which he did in the midst of Mitsrayim unto Phar`oh the king of Mitsrayim, and unto all his land; 4 And what he did unto the army of Mitsrayim, unto their horses, and to their chariots; how he made the water of the Red Sea to overflow them as they pursued after you, and how Yahuah has destroyed them unto this day; 5 And what he did unto you in the wilderness, until ye came into this place; 6 And what he did unto Dathan and Aviyram, the sons of Eliy’av, the son of Re’uven: how the earth opened her mouth, and swallowed them up, and their households, and their tents, and את all the substance that was in their possession, in the midst of all Yashar’el: 7 But your eyes have seen את all the great acts of Yahuah which he did. 8 Therefore shall ye guard all the commandments which I command you this day, that ye may be strong, and go in and possess the land, whither ye go to possess it; 9 And that ye may prolong your days in the land, which Yahuah swore seven oaths unto your fathers to give unto them and to their seed, a land that flows with milk and honey.

10 For the land, whither you go in to possess it, is not as the land of Mitsrayim, from whence ye came out, where you sowed your seed, and watered it with your foot, as a garden of herbs: 11 But the land, whither ye go to possess it, is a land of hills and valleys, and drinks water of the rain of heaven: 12 A land which Yahuah Elohayka cares for: the eyes of Yahuah Elohayka are always upon it, from the beginning of the year even unto the end of the year.

13 And it shall come to pass, if ye shall hearken diligently unto my commandments which I command you this day, to love Yahuah Elohaykem, and to serve him with all your heart and with all your soul, 14 That I will give you the rain of your land in his due season, the first rain and the latter rain, that you may gather in your grain, and your wine, and your oil. 15 And I will send grass in your fields for your cattle, that you may eat and be full. 16 Guard yourselves, that your heart be not deceived, and ye turn aside, and serve other elohiym, and worship them; 17 And then Yahuah’s wrath be kindled against you, and he shut up the heavens, that there be no rain, and that the land yield not her fruit; and lest ye perish quickly from off the good land which Yahuah gives you.

18 Therefore shall ye lay up these my words in your heart and in your soul, and bind them for a sign upon your hand, that they may be as frontlets between your eyes. 19 And ye shall teach them your children, speaking of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, when you lie down, and when you rise up. 20 And you shall write them upon the door posts of your house, and upon your gates: 21 That your days may be multiplied, and the days of your children, in the land which Yahuah swore seven oaths unto your fathers to give them, as the days of heaven upon the earth.

22 For if ye shall diligently guard all these commandments which I command you, to do them, to love Yahuah Elohaykem, to walk in all his ways, and to cleave unto him; 23 Then will Yahuah drive out all these nations from before you, and ye shall possess greater nations and mightier than yourselves. 24 Every place on which the soles of your feet shall tread shall be yours: from the wilderness and Lebanon, from the river, the river Perath, even unto the uttermost sea shall your coast be. 25 There shall no man be able to stand before you: for Yahuah Elohaykem shall lay the fear of you and the dread of you upon all the land that ye shall tread upon, as he has said unto you.

Haftorah: Yesha`yahu (Isaiah) 49:14 - 51:3

But Tsiyon said, Yahuah has forsaken me, and my Adonai has forgotten me. 15 Can a woman forget her sucking child, that she should not have compassion on the son of her womb? Yea, they may forget, yet will I not forget you. 16 Behold, I have gravened you upon the palms of my hands; your walls are continually before me. 17 Your children shall make haste; your destroyers and they that made you waste shall go forth of you.

18 Lift up your eyes round about, and behold: all these gather themselves together, and come to you. As I live, says Yahuah, you shall surely clothe you with them all, as with an ornament, and bind them on you, as a bride does. 19 For your waste and your desolate places, and the land of your destruction, shall even now be too narrow by reason of the inhabitants, and they that swallowed you up shall be far away. 20 The children who you shall have, after you have lost the other, shall say again in your ears: The place is too strait for me: give place to me that I may dwell. 21 Then shall you say in your heart: Who has begotten me these, seeing I have lost my children, and am desolate, a captive, and removing to and fro? And who has brought up these? Behold, I was left alone; these, where had they been? 22 Thus says Adonai Yahuah: Behold, I will lift up my hand to the other nations and set up my standard to the people: and they shall bring your sons in their arms, and your daughters shall be carried upon their shoulders. 23 And kings shall be your nursing fathers, and their queens your nursing mothers: they shall bow down to you with their face toward the earth and lick up the dust of your feet; and you shall know that I am Yahuah: for they shall not be ashamed that wait for me.

24 Shall the prey be taken from the mighty, or the Lawful captive delivered? 25 But thus says Yahuah: Even the captives of the mighty shall be taken away, and the prey of the terrible shall be delivered: for I will contend with him that contends with you, and I will save your children. 26 And I will feed them that oppress you with their own flesh; and they shall be drunken with their own blood, as with sweet wine: and all flesh shall know that I Yahuah am your Savior and your Redeemer, the Mighty One of Ya`aqov.

CHAPTER 50

Thus says Yahuah: Where is the cepher of your mother's divorcement, whom I have put away? Or which of my creditors is it to whom I have sold you? Behold, for your iniquities have ye sold yourselves, and for your transgressions is your mother put away. 2 Wherefore, when I came, was there no man? When I called, was there none to answer? Is my hand shortened at all, that it cannot redeem? Or have I no power to deliver? Behold, at my rebuke I dry up the sea, I make the rivers a wilderness: their fish stinks, because there is no water, and dies for thirst. 3 I clothe the heavens with blackness, and I make sackcloth their covering. 4 Adonai Yahuah has given me the tongue of the learned, that I should know how to speak a word in season to him that is weary: he wakens morning by morning, he wakens my ear to hear as the learned.

5 Adonai Yahuah has opened my ear, and I was not rebellious, neither turned away back. 6 I gave my back to the smiters, and my cheeks to them that plucked off the hair: I hid not my face from shame and spitting.

7 For Adonai Yahuah will help me; therefore shall I not be confounded: therefore have I set my face like a flint, and I know that I shall not be ashamed. 8 He is near that justifies me; who will contend with me? Let us stand together: who is my adversary? Let him come near to me. 9 Behold, Adonai Yahuah will help me; who is he who shall condemn me? Lo, they all shall wax old as a garment; the moth shall eat them up.

10 Who is among you that fears Yahuah, that obeys the voice of his servant, that walks in darkness, and has no light? Let him trust in the name of Yahuah and stay upon his Elohiym. 11 Behold, all ye that kindle a fire, that compass yourselves about with sparks: walk in the light of your fire, and in the sparks that ye have kindled. This shall ye have of my hand; ye shall lie down in sorrow.

CHAPTER 51

Hearken to me, ye that follow after righteousness, ye that seek Yahuah: look unto the Rock whence ye are hewn, and to the hole of the pit whence ye are dug. 2 Look unto El-Avraham your father, and unto El-Sarah that bore you: for I called him alone, and blessed him, and increased him. 3 For Yahuah shall comfort Tsiyon: he will comfort all her waste places; and he will make her wilderness like Eden, and her desert like the garden of Yahuah; joy and gladness shall be found therein, thanksgiving, and the voice of melody.

Besorah: Yochanon (John) 13:31 - 15:27

Therefore, when he was gone out, Yahusha said, Now is the Son of A’dam glorified, and Elohiym is glorified in him. 32 If Elohiym be glorified in him, Elohiym shall also glorify him in himself, and shall straightway glorify him. 33 Little children, yet a little while I am with you. Ye shall seek me: and as I said unto the Yahudiym: Whither I go, ye cannot come; so now I say to you. 34 A new commandment I give unto you: That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another. 35 By this shall all men know that ye are my Talmidiym, if ye have love one to another.

36 Shim`on Kepha said unto him: Adonai, whither do you go? Yahusha answered him: Whither I go, you cannot follow me now; but you shall follow me afterwards. 37 Kepha said unto him: Adonai, why cannot I follow you now? I will lay down my life for your sake. 38 Yahusha answered him: Will you lay down your life for my sake? Amein, Amein, I say unto you: The cock shall not crow, till you have denied me thrice.

CHAPTER 14

Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in Elohiym, believe also in me. 2 In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. 3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also. 4 And whither I go ye know, and the way ye know. 5 Ta’om said unto him: Adonai, we know not whither you go; and how can we know the way? 6 Yahusha said unto him: I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life: no man comes unto the Father, but by me. 7 If ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also: and from henceforth ye know him and have seen him. 8 Philip said unto him: Adonai, show us the Father, and it suffices us. 9 Yahusha said unto him: Have I been so long time with you, and yet have you not known me, Philip? He that has seen me has seen the Father; and how say you then, show us the Father? 10 Believe you not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? The words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwells in me, he does the works. 11 Believe me that I am in the Father, and the Father in me: or else believe me for the very works' sake. 12 Amein, Amein, I say unto you: He that believes on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do, because I go unto my Father. 13 And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. 14 If ye shall ask anything in my name, I will do it.

15 If ye love me, guard my commandments. 16 And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you forever; 17 Even the Ruach Emeth; whom the world cannot receive, because it sees him not, neither knows him: but ye know him; for he dwells with you and shall be in you. 18 I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you. 19 Yet a little while, and the world sees me no more; but ye see me: because I live, ye shall live also. 20 At that day ye shall know that I am in my Father, and ye in me, and I in you. 21 He that has my commandments, and guards them, he it is that loves me: and he that loves me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him. 22 Yahudah said unto him: not Iyshqiryot: Adonai, how is it that you will manifest yourself unto us, and not unto the world? 23 Yahusha answered and said unto him: If a man loves me, he will guard my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him. 24 He that loves me not guards not my words: and the word which ye hear is not mine, but the Father's which sent me. 25 These things have I spoken unto you, being yet present with you. 26 But the Comforter, which is the Ruach Ha’Qodesh, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you. 27 Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world gives, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. 28 Ye have heard how I said unto you, I go away, and come again unto you. If ye loved me, ye would rejoice, because I said, I go unto the Father: for my Father is greater than I. 29 And now I have told you before it come to pass, that, when it is come to pass, ye might believe. 30 Hereafter I will not talk much with you: for the prince of this world comes and has nothing in me. 31 But that the world may know that I love the Father; and as the Father gave me commandment, even so I do. Arise, let us go hence.

CHAPTER 15

I am the Vine of Truth, and my Father is the Husbandman. 2 Every branch in me that bears not fruit he takes away: and every branch that bears fruit, he purges it, that it may bring forth more fruit. 3 Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you. 4 Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me. 5 I am the Vine, ye are the Netseriym: He that abides in me, and I in him, the same brings forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing. 6 If a man abides not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned. 7 If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you. 8 Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit; so shall ye be my Talmidiym. 9 As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you: continue ye in my love. 10 If ye guard my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have guarded my Father's commandments and abide in his love. 11 These things have I spoken unto you, that my joy might remain in you, and that your joy might be full. 12 This is my commandment: That ye love one another, as I have loved you. 13 Greater love has no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends. 14 Ye are my friends, if את ye do whatsoever I command you. 15 Henceforth I call you not servants; for the servant knows not what his Adonai does: but I have called you friends; for all things that I have heard of my Father I have made known unto you. 16 Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you. 17 These things I command you, that ye love one another. 18 If the world hates you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you. 19 If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: את but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hates you. 20 Remember the word that I said unto you: The servant is not greater than his Adoniy. If they have persecuted me, they will also persecute you; if they have guarded my word, they will guard yours also. 21 But all these things will they do unto you for my name's sake, because they know not him that sent me. 22 If I had not come and spoken unto them, they had not had sin: but now they have no cloak for their sin. 23 He that hates me hates my Father also. 24 If I had not done among them the works which no other man did, they had not had sin: but now have they both seen and hated both me and my Father. 25 But, that the word might be fulfilled that is written in the Writings:

They hated me without a cause.

26 But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, the Ruach Emeth, which proceeds from the Father, he shall testify of me: 27 And ye also shall bear witness, because ye have been with me from the beginning.
