Parshat: Leviticus 22:26-23:44
And Yahuah spoke unto Mosheh, saying: 27 When a bullock, or a sheep, or a goat, is brought forth, then it shall be seven days under the dam; and from the eighth day and thenceforth it shall be accepted for an offering made by fire unto Yahuah. 28 And whether it be cow or ewe, ye shall not kill it and her young both in one day. 29 And when ye will offer a sacrifice of thanksgiving unto Yahuah, offer it at your own will. 30 On the same day it shall be eaten up; ye shall leave none of it until the morrow: I am Yahuah. 31 Therefore shall ye guard my commandments and do them: I am Yahuah. 32 Neither shall ye profane my holy name; but I will be hallowed among the children of Yashar'el: I am Yahuah which hallow you, 33 That brought you out of the land of Mitsrayim, to be your Elohiym: I am Yahuah.
CHAPTER 23
And Yahuah spoke unto Mosheh, saying: 2 Speak unto the children of Yashar'el, and say unto them, Concerning the feasts of Yahuah, which ye shall proclaim to be holy assemblies, even these are my feasts. 3 Six days shall work be done: but the seventh day is the Shabbath of rest, a holy assembly; ye shall do no work therein: it is the Shabbath of Yahuah in all your dwellings.
4 These are the feasts of Yahuah, even holy assemblies, which ye shall proclaim in their appointed times. 5 In the fourteenth day of the first month at even is Yahuah's Pecach. 6 And on the fifteenth day of the same month is the Feast of Matstsah unto Yahuah: seven days ye must eat matstsah. 7 In the first day ye shall have a holy assembly: ye shall do no servile work therein. 8 But ye shall offer an offering made by fire unto Yahuah seven days: in the seventh day is a holy assembly: ye shall do no servile work therein.
9 And Yahuah spoke unto Mosheh, saying: 10 Speak unto the children of Yashar'el, and say unto them: When ye are come into the land which I give unto you, and shall reap the harvest thereof, then ye shall bring a sheaf of the first fruits of your harvest unto the priest: 11 And he shall wave the sheaf before Yahuah, to be accepted for you: on the morrow after the Shabbath the priest shall wave it. 12 And ye shall offer that day when ye wave the sheaf a he-lamb without blemish of the first year for an ascending smoke offering unto Yahuah. 13 And the oblation thereof shall be two tenth deals of fine flour mingled with oil, an offering made by fire unto Yahuah for a sweet savor: and the drink offering thereof shall be of wine, the fourth part of a hin. 14 And ye shall eat neither bread, nor parched grain, nor green ears, until the selfsame day that ye have brought an offering unto your Elohiym: it shall be a statute forever throughout your generations in all your dwellings.
15 And ye shall count unto you from the morrow after the Shabbath, from the day that ye brought the sheaf of the wave offering; seven Shabbaths shall be complete: 16 Even unto the morrow after the seventh Shabbath shall ye number fifty days; and ye shall offer a renewed oblation unto Yahuah. 17 Ye shall bring out of your habitations two wave loaves of two tenth deals: they shall be of fine flour; they shall be baked with leaven; they are the first fruits unto Yahuah. 18 And ye shall offer with the bread seven lambs without blemish of the first year, and one young bullock, and two rams: they shall be for an ascending smoke offering unto Yahuah, with their oblation, and their drink offerings, even an offering made by fire, of sweet savor unto Yahuah. 19 Then ye shall sacrifice one kid of the goats for a sin offering, and two lambs of the first year for a sacrifice of peace offerings. 20 And the priest shall wave them with the bread of the first fruits for a wave offering before Yahuah, with the two lambs: they shall be holy to Yahuah for the priest. 21 And ye shall proclaim on the selfsame day, that it may be a holy assembly unto you: ye shall do no servile work therein: it shall be a statute forever in all your dwellings throughout your generations.
22 And when ye reap the harvest of your land, you shall not make clean riddance of the corners of your field when you reap, neither shall you gather any gleaning of your harvest: you shall leave them unto the poor, and to the stranger: I am Yahuah Elohaykem.
23 And Yahuah spoke unto Mosheh, saying: 24 Speak unto the children of Yashar'el, saying: In the seventh month, in the first day of the month, shall ye have a Shabbath, a memorial of blowing of shofars, a holy assembly. 25 Ye shall do no servile work therein: but ye shall offer an offering made by fire unto Yahuah.
26 And Yahuah spoke unto Mosheh, saying: 27 Also on the tenth day of this seventh month is Yom Kippuriym: it shall be a holy assembly unto you; and ye shall afflict your souls, and offer an offering made by fire unto Yahuah. 28 And ye shall do no work in that same day: for it is Yom Kippuriym, to make an atonement for you before Yahuah Elohaykem. 29 For whatsoever soul it be that shall not be afflicted in that same day, he shall be cut off from among his people. 30 And whatsoever soul it be that does any work in that same day, the same soul will I destroy from among his people. 31 Ye shall do no manner of work: it shall be a statute forever throughout your generations in all your dwellings. 32 It shall be unto you a Shabbath of rest, and ye shall afflict your souls: in the ninth day of the month at evening, from evening unto evening, shall ye celebrate your Shabbath.
33 And Yahuah spoke unto Mosheh, saying: 34 Speak unto the children of Yashar'el, saying: The fifteenth day of this seventh month shall be the Feast of Cukkoth for seven days unto Yahuah. 35 On the first day shall be a holy assembly: ye shall do no servile work therein. 36 Seven days ye shall offer an offering made by fire unto Yahuah: on the eighth day shall be a holy assembly unto you; and ye shall offer an offering made by fire unto Yahuah: it is a solemn assembly; and ye shall do no servile work therein. 37 These are the feasts of Yahuah, which ye shall proclaim to be holy assemblies, to offer an offering made by fire unto Yahuah, an ascending smoke offering, and an oblation, a sacrifice, and drink offerings, everything upon his day: 38 Beside the Shabbaths of Yahuah, and beside your gifts, and beside all your vows, and beside all your freewill offerings, which ye give unto Yahuah. 39 Also in the fifteenth day of the seventh month, when ye have gathered in the fruit of the land, ye shall keep a feast unto Yahuah seven days: on the first day shall be a Shabbath, and on the eighth day shall be a Shabbath. 40 And ye shall take you on the first day the boughs of goodly trees, branches of palm trees, and the boughs of thick trees, and willows of the brook; and ye shall rejoice before Yahuah Elohaykem seven days. 41 And ye shall keep it a feast unto Yahuah seven days in the year. It shall be a statute forever in your generations: ye shall celebrate it in the seventh month. 42 Ye shall dwell in cukkoth seven days; all that are Yashar'el born shall dwell in cukkoth: 43 That your generations may know that I made the children of Yashar'el to dwell in cukkoth, when I brought them out of the land of Mitsrayim: I am Yahuah Elohaykem. 44 And Mosheh declared unto the children of Yashar'el the feasts of Yahuah.
Haftarah: Zechariah 14:1-21
Behold, the day of Yahuah comes, and your spoil shall be divided in the midst of you. 2 For I will gather all nations against Yerushalayim to battle; and the city shall be taken, and the houses rifled, and the women ravished; and half of the city shall go forth into captivity, and the remnant of the people shall not be cut off from the city. 3 Then shall Yahuah go forth, and fight against those nations, as when he fought in the day of battle.
4 And his feet shall stand in that day upon the Mount of Olives, which is before Yerushalayim on the east, and the Mount of Olives shall cleave in the midst thereof toward the east and toward the west, and there shall be a very great valley; and half of the mountain shall remove toward the north, and half of it toward the Negev. 5 And ye shall flee to the valley of the mountains; for the valley of the mountains shall reach unto Atsel: yea, ye shall flee, like as ye fled from before the earthquake in the days of Uzziyahu king of Yahudah: and Yahuah Elohai shall come, and all the qodeshiym with you. 6 And it shall come to pass in that day, that the light shall not be clear, nor dark: 7 But it shall be one day which shall be known to Yahuah, not day, nor night: but it shall come to pass, that at evening time it shall be light. 8 And it shall be in that day, that living waters shall go out from Yerushalayim; half of them toward the former sea, and half of them toward the hinder sea: in summer and in winter shall it be. 9 And Yahuah shall be King over all the earth: in that day shall there be one Yahuah, and his name one. 10 All the land shall be turned as a plain from Geva to Rimmon south of Yerushalayim: and it shall be lifted up, and inhabited in her place, from Binyamiyn's gate unto the place of the first gate, unto the corner gate, and from the tower of Chanan'el unto the king's winepresses. 11 And men shall dwell in it, and there shall be no more utter destruction; but Yerushalayim shall be safely inhabited.
12 And this shall be the plague wherewith Yahuah will smite all the people that have fought against Yerushalayim; Their flesh shall consume away while they stand upon their feet, and their eyes shall consume away in their holes, and their tongue shall consume away in their mouth. 13 And it shall come to pass in that day, that a great tumult from Yahuah shall be among them; and they shall lay hold everyone on the hand of his neighbor, and his hand shall rise up against the hand of his neighbor. 14 And Yahudah also shall fight at Yerushalayim; and the wealth of all the heathen round about shall be gathered together, gold, and silver, and apparel, in great abundance. 15 And so shall be the plague of the horse, of the mule, of the camel, and of the ass, and of all the beasts that shall be in these tents, as this plague.
16 And it shall come to pass, that everyone that is left of all the nations which came against Yerushalayim shall even go up from year to year to worship the King, Yahuah Tseva'oth, and to keep the Feast of Cukkoth. 17 And it shall be, that whoso will not come up of all the families of the earth unto Yerushalayim to worship the King, Yahuah Tseva'oth, even upon them shall be no rain. 18 And if the family of Mitsrayim go not up, and come not, that have no rain; there shall be the plague, wherewith Yahuah will smite the heathen that come not up to keep the Feast of Cukkoth. 19 This shall be the punishment of Mitsrayim, and the punishment of all nations that come not up to keep the Feast of Cukkoth.
20 In that day shall there be upon the bells of the horses, Qodesh L'Yahuah; and the pots in Yahuah's house shall be like the bowls before the altar. 21 Yea, every pot in Yerushalayim and in Yahudah shall be holiness unto Yahuah Tseva'oth: and all they that sacrifice shall come and take of them, and seethe therein: and in that day there shall be no more the Kena'aniy in the house of Yahuah Tseva'oth.
Besorah: Luke 2:1-40
And it came to pass in those days, that there went out a decree from Qeycar Augustus, that all the world should be taxed. 2 (And this taxing was first made when Quriyniyuc was governor of Aram.) 3 And all went to be taxed, everyone into his own city. 4 And Yoceph also went up from Galiyl, out of the city of Natsareth, into Yahud, unto the city of David, which is called Beyt Lechem; (because he was of the house and lineage of David:) 5 To be taxed with Miryam his espoused woman, being great with child. 6 And so it was, that, while they were there, the days were accomplished that she should be delivered. 7 And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a cukkah; because there was no room for them in the inn. 8 And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night. 9 And, lo, the angel of Yah came upon them, and the glory of Yahuah shone round about them: and they were sore afraid. 10 And the angel said unto them: Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good news of great joy, which shall be to all people. 11 For unto you is born this day a Savior, the Mashiach of Yahuah in the city of David. 12 And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a cukkah. 13 And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising Elohiym and saying: 14 Glory to Elohiym in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men. 15 And it came to pass, as the angels were gone away from them into heaven, the shepherds said one to another: Let us now go even unto Beyt Lechem, and see this thing which is come to pass, which Yahuah has made known unto us. 16 And they came with haste, and found Miryam, and Yoceph, and the babe lying in a cukkah. 17 And when they had seen it, they made known abroad the saying which was told them concerning this child. 18 And all they that heard it wondered at those things which were told them by the shepherds. 19 But Miryam kept all these things and pondered them in her heart. 20 And the shepherds returned, glorifying and praising Elohiym for all the things that they had heard and seen, as it was told unto them. 21 And when eight days were accomplished for the circumcising of the child, his name was called Yahusha, which was so named of the angel before he was conceived in the womb. 22 And when the days of her purification according to the Torah of Mosheh were accomplished, they brought him to Yerushalayim, to present him to Yahuah; 23 (As it is written in the statutes of Yahuah, Every male that opens the womb shall be called holy to Yahuah;)
24 And to offer a sacrifice according to that which is said in the statutes of Yahuah: A pair of turtledoves, or two young pigeons. 25 And, behold, there was a man in Yerushalayim, whose name was Shim'on; and the same man was just and devout, waiting for the consolation of Yashar'el: and the Ruach Ha'Qodesh was upon him. 26 And it was revealed unto him by the Ruach Ha'Qodesh, that he should not see death, before he had seen Yahuah's Mashiach. 27 And he came by the Ruach into the Temple: and when the parents brought in the child Yahusha, to do for him according to the customary practices of the Torah, 28 Then took he him up in his arms, and blessed Elohiym, and said, 29 Yahuah, now let your servant depart in peace, according to your word: 30 For my eyes have seen your yeshu'ah, 31 Which you have prepared before the face of all people; 32 A light to lighten the other nations, and the glory of your people Yashar'el. 33 And Yoceph and his mother marveled at those things which were spoken of him. 34 And Shim'on blessed them, and said unto Miryam his mother: Behold, this child is set for the fall and rising again of many in Yashar'el; and for a sign which shall be spoken against; 35 (Yea, a sword shall pierce through your own soul also,) that the thoughts of many hearts may be revealed. 36 And there was one Channah, a prophetess, the daughter of Penu'el, of the tribe of Asher: she was of a great age and had lived with a man seven years from her virginity; 37 And she was a widow of about fourscore and four years, which departed not from the Temple, but served Elohiym with fastings and prayers night and day. 38 And she, coming in that instant gave thanks likewise unto Yahuah, and spoke of him to all them that looked for redemption in Yerushalayim. 39 And when they had performed all things according to the statutes of Yahuah, they returned into Galiyl, to their own city Natsareth. 40 And the child grew, and waxed strong in the ruach, filled with wisdom: and the grace of Elohiym was upon him.
