Parshat: Devariym (Deuteronomy) 14:22-16:17; Bemidbar (Numbers) 28:26-31
You shall truly tithe את all the increase of your seed, that the field brings forth year by year. 23 And you shall eat before Yahuah Elohayka, in the place which he shall choose to place his name there, the tithe of your grain, of your wine, and of your oil, and the firstlings of your herds and of your flocks; that you may learn to fear Yahuah Elohayka always. 24 And if the way be too long for you, so that you are not able to carry it; or if the place be too far from you, which Yahuah Elohayka shall choose to set his name there, when Yahuah Elohayka has blessed you: 25 Then shall you turn it into money, and bind up the money in your hand, and shall go unto the place which Yahuah Elohayka shall choose: 26 And you shall bestow that money for whatsoever your soul lusts after, for oxen, or for sheep, or for wine, or for strong drink, or for whatsoever your soul desires: and you shall eat there before Yahuah Elohayka, and you shall rejoice, you, and your household, 27 And the Leviyiy that is within your gates; you shall not forsake him; for he has no part nor inheritance with you.
28 At the end of three years you shall bring forth all the tithe of your increase the same year, and shall lay it up within your gates: 29 And the Leviyiy, (because he has no part nor inheritance with you,) and the stranger, and the fatherless, and the widow, which are within your gates, shall come, and shall eat and be satisfied; that Yahuah Elohayka may bless you in all the work of your hand which you do.
CHAPTER 15
At the end of every seven years you shall make a release. 2 And this is the manner of the release: Every creditor that lends ought unto his neighbor shall release it; he shall not exact it of his neighbor, or of his brother, because it is called Yahuah's release. 3 Of a foreigner you may exact it again: but that which is yours with your brother your hand shall release; 4 Save when there shall be no poor among you; for Yahuah shall greatly bless you in the land which Yahuah Elohayka gives you for an inheritance to possess it: 5 Only if you carefully hearken unto the voice of Yahuah Elohayka, to guard to do all these commandments which I command you this day. 6 For Yahuah Elohayka blesses you, as he promised you: and you shall lend unto many nations, but you shall not borrow; and you shall reign over many nations, but they shall not reign over you.
7 If there be among you a poor man of one of your brethren within any of your gates in your land which Yahuah Elohayka gives you, you shall not harden your heart, nor shut your hand from your poor brother: 8 But you shall open your hand wide unto him, and shall surely lend him sufficient for his need, in that which he wants. 9 Beware that there be not a thought in your wicked heart, saying: The seventh year, the year of release, is at hand; and your eye be evil against your poor brother, and you give him naught; and he cry unto El-Yahuah against you, and it be sin unto you. 10 You shall surely give him, and your heart shall not be grieved when you give unto him: because that for this thing Yahuah Elohayka shall bless you in all your works, and in all that you put your hand unto. 11 For the poor shall never cease out of the land: therefore I command you, saying: You shall open your hand wide unto your brother, to your poor, and to your needy, in your land.
12 And if your brother, an Ivriy man, or an Ivriy woman, be sold unto you, and serve you six years; then in the seventh year you shall let him go free from you. 13 And when you send him out free from you, you shall not let him go away empty: 14 You shall furnish him liberally out of your flock, and out of your floor, and out of your winepress: of that wherewith Yahuah Elohayka has blessed you, you shall give unto him. 15 And you shall remember that you were a bondman in the land of Mitsrayim, and Yahuah Elohayka redeemed you: therefore I command you this thing today. 16 And it shall be, if he says unto you, I will not go away from you; because he loves you and your house, because he is well with you; 17 Then you shall take an aul, and thrust it through his ear unto the door, and he shall be your servant forever. And also unto your maidservant you shall do likewise. 18 It shall not seem hard unto you, when you send him away free from you; for he has been worth a double hired servant to you, in serving you six years: and Yahuah Elohayka shall bless you in all that you do.
19 All the firstling males that come of your herd and of your flock you shall sanctify unto Yahuah Elohayka: you shall do no work with the firstling of your bullock, nor shear the firstling of your sheep. 20 You shall eat it before Yahuah Elohayka year by year in the place which Yahuah shall choose, you and your household. 21 And if there be any blemish therein, as if it be lame, or blind, or have any ill blemish, you shall not sacrifice it unto Yahuah Elohayka. 22 You shall eat it within your gates: the unclean and the clean person shall eat it alike, as the roebuck, and as the deer. 23 Only you shall not eat the blood thereof; you shall pour it upon the ground as water.
CHAPTER 16
Guard the month of Aviyv, and keep the Pecach unto Yahuah Elohayka: for in the month of Aviyv Yahuah Elohayka brought you forth out of Mitsrayim by night. 2 You shall therefore sacrifice the Pecach unto Yahuah Elohayka, of the flock and the herd, in the place which Yahuah shall choose to place his name there. 3 You shall eat no chamets with it; seven days shall you eat matstsah therewith, even the bread of affliction; for you came forth out of the land of Mitsrayim in haste: that you may remember the day when you came forth out of the land of Mitsrayim all the days of your life. 4 And there shall be no chamets seen with you in all your coast seven days; neither shall there anything of the flesh, which you sacrificed the first day at evening, remain all night until the morning. 5 You may not sacrifice the Pecach within any of your gates, which Yahuah Elohayka gives you: 6 But at the place which Yahuah Elohayka shall choose to place his name in, there you shall sacrifice the Pecach at evening, at the going down of the sun, at the season that you came forth out of Mitsrayim. 7 And you shall roast and eat it in the place which Yahuah Elohayka shall choose: and you shall turn in the morning and go unto your tents. 8 Six days you shall eat matstsah: and on the seventh day shall be a solemn assembly to Yahuah Elohayka: you shall do no work therein.
9 Seven weeks you shall number unto you: begin to number the seven weeks from such time as you begin to put the sickle to the grain. 10 And you shall keep the Feast of Shavu'oth unto Yahuah Elohayka with a tribute of a freewill offering of your hand, which you shall give unto Yahuah Elohayka, according as Yahuah Elohayka has blessed you: 11 And you shall rejoice before Yahuah Elohayka, you, and your son, and your daughter, and your manservant, and your maidservant, and the Leviyiy that is within your gates, and the stranger, and the fatherless, and the widow, that are among you, in the place which Yahuah Elohayka has chosen to place his name there. 12 And you shall remember that you were a bondman in Mitsrayim: and you shall guard and do these statutes.
13 You shall keep the Feast of Cukkoth seven days, after that you have gathered in your threshing floor and your wine: 14 And you shall rejoice in your feast, you, and your son, and your daughter, and your manservant, and your maidservant, and the Leviyiy, the stranger, and the fatherless, and the widow, that are within your gates. 15 Seven days shall you keep a solemn feast unto Yahuah Elohayka in the place which Yahuah shall choose: because Yahuah Elohayka shall bless you in all your increase, and in all the works of your hands, therefore you shall surely rejoice.
16 Three times in a year shall all your males appear before Yahuah Elohayka in the place which he shall choose; in the Feast of Matstsah, and in the Feast of Shavu'oth, and in the Feast of Cukkoth: and they shall not appear before Yahuah empty: 17 Every man shall give as he is able, according to the blessing of Yahuah Elohayka which he has given you.
Bemidbar (Numbers) 28:26-31
26 And in the day of Bikkoor, when ye bring a renewed oblation unto Yahuah, in your Shavu'oth, ye shall have a holy assembly; ye shall do no servile work: 27 But ye shall offer the ascending smoke offering for a sweet savor unto Yahuah; two young bullocks, one ram, seven lambs of the first year; 28 And their oblation of flour mingled with oil, three tenth deals unto one bullock, two tenth deals unto one ram, 29 A several tenth deal unto one lamb, throughout the seven lambs; 30 And one kid of the goats, to make an atonement for you. 31 Ye shall offer them beside the continual ascending smoke offering, and his oblation, (they shall be unto you without blemish) and their drink offerings.
Haftorah: Chabaqquq (Habakkuk) 3:1-19
A prayer of Chabaqquq the prophet upon Shiggayon.
2 O Yahuah, I have heard your speech, and was afraid: O Yahuah, revive your work in the midst of the years, in the midst of the years make known; in wrath remember mercy. 3 Eloah came from Teyman, and the Holy One from Mount Pa'ran. Celah. His glory covered the heavens, and the earth was full of his praise. 4 And his brightness was as the light; he had rays of light coming out of his hand: and there was the hiding of his power. 5 Before him went the pestilence, and burning coals went forth at his feet. 6 He stood, and measured the earth: he beheld, and drove asunder the nations; and the everlasting mountains were scattered, the perpetual hills did bow: his ways are everlasting. 7 I saw the tents of Kushan in affliction: and the curtains of the land of Midyan did tremble. 8 Was Yahuah displeased against the rivers? Was your anger against the rivers? Was your wrath against the sea, that you did ride upon your horses and your chariots of yeshu'ah? 9 Your bow was made quite naked, according to the oaths of the tribes, even your Word. Celah. You did cleave the earth with rivers. 10 The mountains saw you, and they trembled: the overflowing of the water passed by: the deep uttered his voice and lifted up his hands on high. 11 The sun and moon stood still in their habitation: at the light of your arrows they went, and at the shining of your glittering spear. 12 You did march through the land in indignation, you did thresh the heathen in anger. 13 You went forth for the salvation of your people, even for salvation with your Mashiach; you wounded the head out of the house of the wicked, by discovering the foundation unto the neck. Celah. 14 You did strike through with his staves the head of his villages: they came out as a whirlwind to scatter me: their rejoicing was as to devour the poor secretly. 15 You did walk through the sea with your horses, through the heap of great waters. 16 When I heard, my belly trembled; my lips quivered at the voice: rottenness entered into my bones, and I trembled in myself, that I might rest in the day of trouble: when he comes up unto the people, he will invade them with his troops.
17 Although the fig tree shall not blossom, neither shall fruit be in the vines; the labor of the olive shall fail, and the fields shall yield no meat; the flock shall be cut off from the fold, and there shall be no herd in the stalls: 18 Yet I will rejoice in Yahuah, I will joy in the Elohai of my yeshu'ah. 19 Yahuah Adonai is my strength, and he will make my feet like hinds' feet, and he will make me to walk upon my high places. To the chief singer on my stringed instruments.
Besorah: Ma'asiym (Acts) 2:21-42
And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of Yahuah shall be saved.
22 Ye men of Yashar'el, hear these words; Yahusha the Netseriy, a man approved of Elohiym among you by miracles and wonders and signs, which Elohiym did by him in the midst of you, as ye yourselves also know: 23 Him, being delivered by the determinate counsel and foreknowledge of Elohiym, ye have taken, and by wicked hands have crucified and slain: 24 Whom Yahuah has raised up, having loosed the pains of death: because it was not possible that he should be held of it. 25 For David speaks concerning him, I foresaw Yahuah always before my face, for he is on my right hand, that I should not be moved: 26 Therefore did my heart rejoice, and my tongue was glad; moreover also my flesh shall rest in hope: 27 Because you will not leave my soul in She'ol, neither will you suffer your Holy One to see corruption. 28 You have made known to me the ways of life; you shall make me full of joy with your countenance.
29 Men and brethren, let me freely speak unto you of the patriarch David, that he is both dead and buried, and his sepulchre is with us unto this day. 30 Therefore being a prophet and knowing that Elohiym had sworn with an oath to him, את that of the fruit of his loins, according to the flesh, he would raise up Mashiach to sit on his throne; 31 He, seeing this before spoke of the resurrection of Mashiach, that his soul was not left in She'ol, neither his flesh did see corruption. 32 This Yahusha has Elohiym raised up, whereof we all are witnesses. 33 Therefore being by the right hand of Yah exalted and having received of the Father the promise of the Ruach Ha'Qodesh, he has shed forth this, which ye now see and hear. 34 For David is not ascended into the heavens: but he said himself, Yahuah said unto my Adonai: Sit on my right hand, 35 Until I make your foes your footstool.
36 Therefore let all the house of Yashar'el know assuredly, that Elohiym has made that same Yahusha, whom ye have crucified, both Adonai and Mashiach.
37 Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Kepha and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do? 38 Then Kepha said unto them: Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Yah for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Ruach Ha'Qodesh. 39 For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as Yahuah Elohaynu shall call. 40 And with many other words did he testify and exhort, saying: Save yourselves from this perverse nation. 41 Then they that gladly received his word were baptized: and the same day there were added unto them about three thousand souls.
42 And they continued steadfastly in the apostles' doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers.
