Parshat: Shemoth (Exodus) 6:2 - 9:35
2 And Elohiym spoke unto Mosheh and said unto him: I am Yahuah: 3 And I appeared unto El-Avraham, unto El-Yitschaq, and unto El-Ya`aqov, by El Shaddai, but by my name Yahuah was I not known to them. 4 And I have also established my covenant with them, to give them the land of Kena`an, את the land of their pilgrimage, wherein they were strangers. 5 And I have also heard the groaning of the children of Yashar'el, whom the Mitsriym keep in bondage; and I have remembered my covenant. 6 Wherefore say unto the children of Yashar'el, I am Yahuah, and I will bring you out from under the burdens of the Mitsriym, and I will rid you out of their bondage, and I will redeem you with a stretched out arm, and with great judgments: 7 And I will take you to me for a people, and I will be to you Elohiym: and ye shall know that I am Yahuah Elohaykem, which brings you out from under the burdens of the Mitsriym. 8 And I will bring you in unto the land, concerning the which I did swear to give it to Avraham, to Yitschaq, and to Ya`aqov; and I will give it you for a heritage: I am Yahuah.
9 And Mosheh spoke so unto the children of Yashar'el: but they hearkened not unto Mosheh for anguish of the ruach, and for cruel bondage. 10 And Yahuah spoke unto Mosheh, saying: 11 Go in, speak unto Phar`oh king of Mitsrayim, that he let the children of Yashar'el go out of his land. 12 And Mosheh spoke before Yahuah, saying: Behold, the children of Yashar'el have not hearkened unto me; how then shall Phar`oh hear me, who am of uncircumcised lips? 13 And Yahuah spoke unto El-Mosheh and unto El-Aharon and gave them a charge unto the children of Yashar'el, and unto Phar`oh king of Mitsrayim, to bring the children of Yashar'el out of the land of Mitsrayim.
14 These be the heads of their fathers' houses: The sons of Re'uven the firstborn of Yashar'el; Chanoch, and Pallu, Chetsron, and Karmiy: these be the families of Re'uven. 15 And the sons of Shim`on; Yemu'el, and Yamiyn, and Ohad, and Yakiyn, and Tsochar, and Sha'ul the son of a Kena`aniy woman: these are the families of Shim`on.
16 And these are the names of the sons of Leviy according to their generations; Gershon, and Qohath, and Merariy: and the years of the life of Leviy were a hundred thirty and seven years. 17 The sons of Gershon; Livniy, and Shim`iy, according to their families. 18 And the sons of Qohath; Amram, and Yitshar, and Chevron, and Uzziy'el: and the years of the life of Qohath were a hundred thirty and three years. 19 And the sons of Merariy; Machliy and Mushiy: these are the families of Leviy according to their generations. 20 And Amram took him Yokeved his father's sister to be his woman; and she bore him Aharon and Mosheh: and the years of the life of Amram were a hundred and thirty and seven years.
21 And the sons of Yitshar; Qorach, and Nepheg, and Zikriy. 22 And the sons of Uzziy'el; Miysha'el, and Eliytsaphan, and Cithriy. 23 And Aharon took him Eliysheva, daughter of Ammiynadav, sister of Nachshon, to be his woman; and she bore him Nadav, and Aviyhu, El`azar, and Iythamar. 24 And the sons of Qorach; Acciyr, and Elqanah, and Aviy'acaph: these are the families of the Qorchiy. 25 And El`azar Aharon's son took him one of the daughters of Putiy'el to be his woman; and she bore him Piynechac: these are the heads of the fathers of the Leviyiym according to their families. 26 These are that Aharon and Mosheh, to whom Yahuah said: Bring out the children of Yashar'el from the land of Mitsrayim according to their armies. 27 These are they which spoke to Phar`oh king of Mitsrayim, to bring out the children of Yashar'el from Mitsrayim: these are that Mosheh and Aharon.
28 And it came to pass on the day when Yahuah spoke unto Mosheh in the land of Mitsrayim, 29 That Yahuah spoke unto Mosheh, saying: I am Yahuah: speak you unto Phar`oh king of Mitsrayim את all that I say unto you. 30 And Mosheh said before Yahuah: Behold, I am of uncircumcised lips, and how shall Phar`oh hearken unto me?
CHAPTER 7
And Yahuah said unto Mosheh: See, I have made you an elohiym to Phar`oh: and Aharon your brother shall be your prophet. 2 You shall speak את all that I command you: and Aharon your brother shall speak unto Phar`oh, that he sends the children of Yashar'el out of his land. 3 And I will harden Phar`oh's heart and multiply my signs and my wonders in the land of Mitsrayim. 4 But Phar`oh shall not hearken unto you, that I may lay my hand upon Mitsrayim, and bring forth my armies, and my people the children of Yashar'el, out of the land of Mitsrayim by great judgments. 5 And the Mitsriym shall know that I am Yahuah, when I stretch forth my hand upon Mitsrayim, and bring out the children of Yashar'el from among them. 6 And Mosheh and Aharon did as Yahuah commanded them, so did they. 7 And Mosheh was fourscore years old, and Aharon fourscore and three years old, when they spoke unto Phar`oh.
8 And Yahuah spoke unto El-Mosheh and unto El-Aharon, saying: 9 When Phar`oh shall speak unto you, saying: Show a miracle for you: then you shall say unto El-Aharon: Take your rod, and cast it before Phar`oh, and it shall become a dragon.
10 And Mosheh and Aharon went in unto Phar`oh, and they did so as Yahuah had commanded: and Aharon cast down his rod before Phar`oh, and before his servants, and it became a dragon. 11 Then Phar`oh also called the wise men and the sorcerers: now the magicians of Mitsrayim, they also did in like manner with their enchantments. 12 For they cast down every man his rod, and they became dragons: but Aharon's rod swallowed up their rods. 13 And he hardened Phar`oh's heart, that he hearkened not unto them, as Yahuah had said.
14 And Yahuah said unto Mosheh, Phar`oh's heart is hardened, he refuses to let the people go. 15 Get you unto Phar`oh in the morning; lo, he goes out unto the water; and you shall stand by the river's brink against he come; and the rod which was turned to a serpent shall you take in your hand. 16 And you shall say unto him, Yahuah Elohai of the Ivriym has sent me unto you, saying: Let my people go, that they may serve me in the wilderness: and behold, hitherto you would not hear. 17 Thus says Yahuah: In this you shall know that I am Yahuah: behold, I will smite with the rod that is in my hand upon the waters which are in the river, and they shall be turned to blood. 18 And the fish that is in the river shall die, and the river shall stink; and the Mitsriym shall loathe to drink of the water of the river.
19 And Yahuah spoke unto Mosheh: Say unto Aharon: Take your rod and stretch out your hand upon the waters of Mitsrayim, upon their streams, upon their rivers, and upon their ponds, and upon all their pools of water, that they may become blood; and that there may be blood throughout all the land of Mitsrayim, both in vessels of wood, and in vessels of stone. 20 And Mosheh and Aharon did so, as Yahuah commanded; and he lifted up the rod, and smote the waters that were in the river, in the sight of Phar`oh, and in the sight of his servants; and all the waters that were in the river were turned to blood. 21 And the fish that was in the river died; and the river stank, and the Mitsriym could not drink of the water of the river; and there was blood throughout all the land of Mitsrayim. 22 And the magicians of Mitsrayim did so with their enchantments: and Phar`oh's heart was hardened, neither did he hearken unto them as Yahuah had said. 23 And Phar`oh turned and went into his house, neither did he set his heart to this also. 24 And all the Mitsriym dug round about the river for water to drink; for they could not drink of the water of the river. 25 And seven days were fulfilled, after that Yahuah had smitten the river.
CHAPTER 8
And Yahuah spoke unto Mosheh: Go unto Phar`oh, and say unto him: Thus says Yahuah: Let my people go, that they may serve me. 2 And if you refuse to let them go, behold, I will smite all your borders with frogs: 3 And the river shall bring forth frogs abundantly, which shall go up and come into your house, and into your bedchamber, and upon your bed, and into the house of your servants, and upon your people, and into your ovens, and into your kneading troughs: 4 And the frogs shall come up both on you, and upon your people, and upon all your servants.
5 And Yahuah spoke unto El-Mosheh: Say unto El-Aharon: Stretch forth your hand with your rod over the streams, over the rivers, and over the ponds, and cause the frogs to come up upon the land of Mitsrayim. 6 And Aharon stretched out his hand over the waters of Mitsrayim; and the frogs came up and covered the land of Mitsrayim. 7 And the magicians did so with their enchantments and brought up the frogs upon the land of Mitsrayim.
8 Then Phar`oh called for Mosheh and Aharon, and said, Intreat El-Yahuah, that he may take away the frogs from me, and from my people; and I will let the people go, that they may do sacrifice unto Yahuah. 9 And Mosheh said unto Phar`oh: Glory over me: when shall I intreat for you, and for your servants, and for your people, to destroy the frogs from you and your houses, that they may remain in the river only? 10 And he said: Tomorrow. And he said: Be it according to your word: that you may know that there is none like unto Yahuah Elohaynu. 11 And the frogs shall depart from you, and from your houses, and from your servants, and from your people; they shall remain in the river only. 12 And Mosheh and Aharon went out from Phar`oh: and Mosheh cried unto El-Yahuah because of the frogs which he had brought against Phar`oh. 13 And Yahuah did according to the word of Mosheh; and the frogs died out of the houses, out of the villages, and out of the fields. 14 And they gathered them together upon heaps: and the land stank. 15 But when Phar`oh saw that there was respite, he hardened his heart, and hearkened not unto them as Yahuah had said.
16 And Yahuah said unto El-Mosheh: Say unto El-Aharon: Stretch out your rod, and smite the dust of the land, that it may become lice throughout all the land of Mitsrayim. 17 And they did so; for Aharon stretched out his hand with his rod, and smote the dust of the earth, and it became lice in man, and in beast; all the dust of the land became lice throughout all the land of Mitsrayim. 18 And the magicians did so with their enchantments to bring forth the lice, but they could not: so there were lice upon man, and upon beast. 19 Then the magicians said unto Phar`oh: This is the finger of Elohiym: and Phar`oh's heart was hardened, and he hearkened not unto them, as Yahuah had said.
20 And Yahuah said unto Mosheh, Rise up early in the morning, and stand before Phar`oh; lo, he comes forth to the water; and say unto him: Thus says Yahuah: Let my people go, that they may serve me. 21 Else, if you will not let my people go, behold, I will send swarms of flies upon you, and upon your servants, and upon your people, and into your houses: and the houses of the Mitsriym shall be full of swarms of flies, and also the ground whereon they are. 22 And I will sever in that day the land of Goshen, in which my people dwell, that no swarms of flies shall be there; to the end you may know that I am Yahuah in the midst of the earth. 23 And I will put a division between my people and your people: tomorrow shall this sign be. 24 And Yahuah did so; and there came a grievous swarm of flies into the house of Phar`oh, and into his servants' houses, and into all the land of Mitsrayim: the land was corrupted by reason of the swarm of flies.
25 And Phar`oh called for Mosheh and for Aharon, and said: Go ye, sacrifice to your Elohiym in the land. 26 And Mosheh said: It is not meet so to do; for we shall sacrifice the abomination of the Mitsriym to Yahuah Elohaynu: lo, shall we sacrifice the abomination of the Mitsriym before their eyes, and will they not stone us? 27 We will go three days' journey into the wilderness, and sacrifice to Yahuah Elohaynu, as he shall command us. 28 And Phar`oh said, I will let you go, that ye may sacrifice to Yahuah Elohayka in the wilderness; only ye shall not go very far away: intreat for me. 29 And Mosheh said: Behold, I go out from you, and I will intreat El-Yahuah that the swarms of flies may depart from Phar`oh, from his servants, and from his people, tomorrow: but let not Phar`oh deal deceitfully anymore in not letting the people go to sacrifice to Yahuah. 30 And Mosheh went out from Phar`oh, and intreated Yahuah. 31 And Yahuah did according to the word of Mosheh; and he removed the swarms of flies from Phar`oh, from his servants, and from his people; there remained not one. 32 And Phar`oh hardened his heart at this time also, neither would he let the people go.
CHAPTER 9
Then Yahuah said unto El-Mosheh: Go in unto Phar`oh, and tell him: Thus says Yahuah Elohai of the Ivriym: Let my people go, that they may serve me. 2 For if you refuse to let them go, and will hold them still, 3 Behold, the hand of Yahuah is upon your cattle which is in the field, upon the horses, upon the asses, upon the camels, upon the oxen, and upon the sheep: there shall be a very grievous pestilence. 4 And Yahuah shall sever between the cattle of Yashar'el and the cattle of Mitsrayim: and there shall nothing die of all that is the children's of Yashar'el. 5 And Yahuah appointed a set time, saying: Tomorrow Yahuah shall do this thing in the land. 6 And Yahuah did that thing on the morrow, and all the cattle of Mitsrayim died: but of the cattle of the children of Yashar'el died not one. 7 And Phar`oh sent, and behold, there was not one of the cattle of Yashar'el dead. And the heart of Phar`oh was hardened, and he did not let the people go.
8 And Yahuah said unto El-Mosheh and unto El-Aharon: Take to you handfuls of ashes of the furnace, and let Mosheh sprinkle it toward the heavens in the sight of Phar`oh. 9 And it shall become small dust in all the land of Mitsrayim and shall be a boil breaking forth with blains upon man, and upon beast, throughout all the land of Mitsrayim. 10 And they took ashes of the furnace and stood before Phar`oh; and Mosheh sprinkled it up toward the heavens; and it became a boil breaking forth with blains upon man, and upon beast. 11 And the magicians could not stand before Mosheh because of the boils; for the boil was upon the magicians, and upon all the Mitsriym. 12 And Yahuah hardened the heart of Phar`oh, and he hearkened not unto them; as Yahuah had spoken unto El-Mosheh.
13 And Yahuah said unto El-Mosheh, Rise up early in the morning, and stand before Phar`oh, and say unto him: Thus says Yahuah Elohai of the Ivriym: Let my people go, that they may serve me. 14 For I will at this time send all my plagues upon your heart, and upon your servants, and upon your people; that you may know that there is none like me in all the earth. 15 For now I will stretch out my hand, that I may smite you and your people with pestilence; and you shall be cut off from the earth. 16 And in very deed for this cause have I raised you up, for to show in you my power; and that my name may be declared throughout all the earth. 17 As yet exalt you yourself against my people, that you will not let them go? 18 Behold, tomorrow about this time I will cause it to rain a very grievous hail, such as has not been in Mitsrayim since the foundation thereof even until now. 19 Send therefore now, and gather your cattle, and all that you have in the field; for upon every man and beast which shall be found in the field, and shall not be brought home, the hail shall come down upon them, and they shall die. 20 He that feared the Word of Yahuah among the servants of Phar`oh made his servants and his cattle flee into the houses: 21 And he that regarded not the Word of Yahuah left his servants and his cattle in the field.
22 And Yahuah said unto El-Mosheh: Stretch forth your hand toward the heavens, that there may be hail in all the land of Mitsrayim, upon man, and upon beast, and upon every herb of the field, throughout the land of Mitsrayim. 23 And Mosheh stretched forth his rod toward the heavens: and Yahuah sent thunder and hail, and the fire ran along upon the ground; and Yahuah rained hail upon the land of Mitsrayim. 24 So there was hail, and fire mingled with the hail, very grievous, such as there was none like it in all the land of Mitsrayim since it became a nation. 25 And the hail smote throughout all the land of Mitsrayim את all that was in the field, both man and beast; and the hail smote every herb of the field and broke every tree of the field. 26 Only in the land of Goshen, where the children of Yashar'el were, was there no hail.
27 And Phar`oh sent, and called for Mosheh and Aharon, and said unto them: I have sinned this time: Yahuah is righteous, and I and my people are wicked. 28 Intreat El-Yahuah (for it is enough) that there be no more mighty thunderings and hail; and I will let you go, and ye shall stay no longer. 29 And Mosheh said unto him: As soon as I am gone out of the city, I will spread abroad my hands unto El-Yahuah; and the thunder shall cease, neither shall there be any more hail; that you may know how that the earth is Yahuah's. 30 But as for you and your servants, I know that ye will not yet fear Yahuah Elohiym. 31 And the flax and the barley was smitten: for the barley was in the ear, and the flax was bolled. 32 But the wheat and the rye were not smitten: for they were not grown up. 33 And Mosheh went out of the city from Phar`oh and spread abroad his hands unto El-Yahuah: and the thunders and hail ceased, and the rain was not poured upon the earth. 34 And when Phar`oh saw that the rain and the hail and the thunders were ceased, he sinned yet more, and hardened his heart, he and his servants. 35 And the heart of Phar`oh was hardened, neither would he let the children of Yashar'el go; as Yahuah had spoken by Mosheh.
Haftorah: Yechezq'el (Ezekiel) 28:25 - 29:21
25 Thus says Adonai Yahuah; When I shall have gathered the house of Yashar’el from the people among whom they are scattered and shall be sanctified in them in the sight of the heathen, then shall they dwell in their land that I have given to my servant Ya`aqov. 26 And they shall dwell safely therein, and shall build houses, and plant vineyards; yea, they shall dwell with confidence, when I have executed judgments upon all those that despise them round about them; and they shall know that I am Yahuah Elohayhem.
CHAPTER 29
In the tenth year, in the tenth month, in the twelfth day of the month, the Word of Yahuah came unto me, saying: 2 Son of A’dam, set your face against Phar`oh king of Mitsrayim, and prophesy against him, and against all Mitsrayim: 3 Speak, and say: Thus says Adonai Yahuah; Behold, I am against you, Phar`oh king of Mitsrayim, the great dragon that lies in the midst of his rivers, which has said,
My river is my own, and I have made it for myself.
4 But I will put hooks in your jaws, and I will cause the fish of your rivers to stick unto your scales, and I will bring you up out of the midst of your rivers, and את all the fish of your rivers shall stick unto your scales. 5 And I will leave you thrown into the wilderness, you and את all the fish of your rivers: you shall fall upon the open fields; you shall not be brought together, nor gathered: I have given you as food for the beasts of the field and for the fowls of the heavens. 6 And all the inhabitants of Mitsrayim shall know that I am Yahuah, because they have been a staff of reed to the house of Yashar’el. 7 When they took hold of you by your hand, you did break, and rend all their shoulder: and when they leaned upon you, you broke, and made all their loins to be at a stand.
8 Therefore thus says Adonai Yahuah; Behold, I will bring a sword upon you, and cut off man and beast out of you. 9 And the land of Mitsrayim shall be desolate and waste; and they shall know that I am Yahuah: because he has said: The river is mine, and I have made it. 10 Behold, therefore I am against you, and against your rivers, and I will make the land of Mitsrayim utterly waste and desolate, from the tower of Ceveneh even unto the border of Kush. 11 No foot of man shall pass through it, nor foot of beast shall pass through it, neither shall it be inhabited forty years. 12 And I will make the land of Mitsrayim desolate in the midst of the countries that are desolate, and her cities among the cities that are laid waste shall be desolate forty years: and I will scatter the Mitsriym among the nations and will disperse them through the countries.
13 Yet thus says Adonai Yahuah; At the end of forty years will I gather the Mitsriym from the people whither they were scattered: 14 And I will bring again the captivity of Mitsrayim and will cause them to return into the land of Pathroc, into the land of their habitation; and they shall be there a base kingdom. 15 It shall be the basest of the kingdoms; neither shall it exalt itself anymore above the nations: for I will diminish them, that they shall no more rule over the nations. 16 And it shall be no more the confidence of the house of Yashar’el, which brings their iniquity to remembrance, when they shall look after them: but they shall know that I am Adonai Yahuah.
17 And it came to pass in the seven and twentieth year, in the first month, in the first day of the month, the Word of Yahuah came unto me, saying: 18 son of A’dam, Nevukadne’tstsar king of Babel caused his army to serve a great service against Tsor: every head was made bald, and every shoulder was peeled: yet had he no wages, nor his army, for Tsor, for the service that he had served against it: 19 Therefore thus says Adonai Yahuah; Behold, I will give the land of Mitsrayim unto Nevukadne’tstsar king of Babel; and he shall take her multitude, and take her spoil, and take her prey; and it shall be the wages for his army. 20 I have given him the land of Mitsrayim for his labor wherewith he served against it, because they wrought for me, says Adonai Yahuah.
21 In that day will I cause the horn of the house of Yashar’el to bud forth, and I will give you the opening of the mouth in the midst of them; and they shall know that I am Yahuah.
Besorah: Luqas (Luke) 6:20-49
20 And he lifted up his eyes on his Talmidiym, and said,
Blessed be ye poor: for yours is the Kingdom of Elohiym.
21 Blessed are ye that hunger now: for ye shall be filled.
Blessed are ye that weep now: for ye shall laugh.
22 Blessed are ye, when men shall hate you, and when they shall separate you from their company, and shall reproach you, and cast out your name as evil, for the Son of A’dam's sake.
23 Rejoice ye in that day, and leap for joy: for, behold, your reward is great in heaven: for in the like manner did their fathers unto the prophets.
24 But woe unto you that are rich! for ye have received את your consolation.
25 Woe unto you that are full! for ye shall hunger.
Woe unto you that laugh now! for ye shall mourn and weep.
26 Woe unto you, when all men shall speak well of you! for so did their fathers to the false prophets.
27 But I say unto you which hear: Love your enemies, do good to them which hate you, 28 Bless them that curse you, and pray for them which despitefully use you. 29 And unto him that smites you on the one cheek offer also the other; and him that takes away your cloak forbid not to take your coat also. 30 Give to every man that asks of you; and of him that takes away your goods ask them את not again. 31 And as ye would that men should do to you, do ye also to them likewise. 32 For if ye love them which love you, what thank have ye? For sinners also love those that love them. 33 And if ye do good to them which do good to you, what thank have ye? For sinners also do even the same. 34 And if ye lend to them of whom ye hope to receive, what thank have ye? For sinners also lend to sinners, to receive as much again. 35 But love ye your enemies, and do good, and lend, hoping for nothing again; and your reward shall be great, and ye shall be the children of El Elyon: for he is kind unto the unthankful and to the evil. 36 Be ye therefore merciful, as your Father also is merciful. 37 Judge not, and ye shall not be judged: condemn not, and ye shall not be condemned: forgive, and ye shall be forgiven: 38 Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again. 39 And he spoke a parable unto them: Can the blind lead the blind? Shall they not both fall into the ditch? 40 The Talmiyd is not above his Rabbi: but everyone that is perfect shall be as his Rabbi. 41 And why behold the mote that is in your brother's eye, but perceive not the beam that is in your own eye? 42 How can you say to your brother: Brother, let me pull out the mote that is in your eye, when you yourself behold not the beam that is in your own eye? You hypocrite, cast out first the beam out of your own eye, and then shall you see clearly to pull out the mote that is in your brother's eye. 43 For a good tree brings not forth corrupt fruit; neither does a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit. 44 For every tree is known by his own fruit. For of thorns men do not gather figs, nor of a thorn bush gather they grapes. 45 A good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth that which is good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart brings forth that which is evil: for of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaks.
46 And why call ye me, Adonai, Adonai, and do not את the things which I say? 47 Whosoever comes to me, and hears my sayings, and does them, I will show you to whom he is like: 48 He is like a man which built a house, and dug deep, and laid the foundation on a rock: and when the flood arose, the stream beat vehemently upon that house, and could not shake it: for it was founded upon a rock. 49 But he that hears, and does not, is like a man that without a foundation built a house upon the earth; against which the stream did beat vehemently, and immediately it fell; and the ruin of that house was great.
