Parshat: Devariym (Deuteronomy) 14:22-16:17
You shall truly tithe את all the increase of your seed, that the field brings forth year by year. 23 And you shall eat before Yahuah Elohayka, in the place which he shall choose to place his name there, the tithe of your grain, of your wine, and of your oil, and the firstlings of your herds and of your flocks; that you may learn to fear Yahuah Elohayka always. 24 And if the way be too long for you, so that you are not able to carry it; or if the place be too far from you, which Yahuah Elohayka shall choose to set his name there, when Yahuah Elohayka has blessed you: 25 Then shall you turn it into money, and bind up the money in your hand, and shall go unto the place which Yahuah Elohayka shall choose: 26 And you shall bestow that money for whatsoever your soul lusts after, for oxen, or for sheep, or for wine, or for strong drink, or for whatsoever your soul desires: and you shall eat there before Yahuah Elohayka, and you shall rejoice, you, and your household, 27 And the Leviyiy that is within your gates; you shall not forsake him; for he has no part nor inheritance with you.
28 At the end of three years you shall bring forth all the tithe of your increase the same year, and shall lay it up within your gates: 29 And the Leviyiy, (because he has no part nor inheritance with you,) and the stranger, and the fatherless, and the widow, which are within your gates, shall come, and shall eat and be satisfied; that Yahuah Elohayka may bless you in all the work of your hand which you do.
CHAPTER 15
At the end of every seven years you shall make a release. 2 And this is the manner of the release: Every creditor that lends ought unto his neighbor shall release it; he shall not exact it of his neighbor, or of his brother, because it is called Yahuah's release. 3 Of a foreigner you may exact it again: but that which is yours with your brother your hand shall release; 4 Save when there shall be no poor among you; for Yahuah shall greatly bless you in the land which Yahuah Elohayka gives you for an inheritance to possess it: 5 Only if you carefully hearken unto the voice of Yahuah Elohayka, to guard to do all these commandments which I command you this day. 6 For Yahuah Elohayka blesses you, as he promised you: and you shall lend unto many nations, but you shall not borrow; and you shall reign over many nations, but they shall not reign over you.
7 If there be among you a poor man of one of your brethren within any of your gates in your land which Yahuah Elohayka gives you, you shall not harden your heart, nor shut your hand from your poor brother: 8 But you shall open your hand wide unto him, and shall surely lend him sufficient for his need, in that which he wants. 9 Beware that there be not a thought in your wicked heart, saying: The seventh year, the year of release, is at hand; and your eye be evil against your poor brother, and you give him naught; and he cry unto El-Yahuah against you, and it be sin unto you. 10 You shall surely give him, and your heart shall not be grieved when you give unto him: because that for this thing Yahuah Elohayka shall bless you in all your works, and in all that you put your hand unto. 11 For the poor shall never cease out of the land: therefore I command you, saying: You shall open your hand wide unto your brother, to your poor, and to your needy, in your land.
12 And if your brother, an Ivriy man, or an Ivriy woman, be sold unto you, and serve you six years; then in the seventh year you shall let him go free from you. 13 And when you send him out free from you, you shall not let him go away empty: 14 You shall furnish him liberally out of your flock, and out of your floor, and out of your winepress: of that wherewith Yahuah Elohayka has blessed you, you shall give unto him. 15 And you shall remember that you were a bondman in the land of Mitsrayim, and Yahuah Elohayka redeemed you: therefore I command you this thing today. 16 And it shall be, if he says unto you, I will not go away from you; because he loves you and your house, because he is well with you; 17 Then you shall take an aul, and thrust it through his ear unto the door, and he shall be your servant forever. And also unto your maidservant you shall do likewise. 18 It shall not seem hard unto you, when you send him away free from you; for he has been worth a double hired servant to you, in serving you six years: and Yahuah Elohayka shall bless you in all that you do.
19 All the firstling males that come of your herd and of your flock you shall sanctify unto Yahuah Elohayka: you shall do no work with the firstling of your bullock, nor shear the firstling of your sheep. 20 You shall eat it before Yahuah Elohayka year by year in the place which Yahuah shall choose, you and your household. 21 And if there be any blemish therein, as if it be lame, or blind, or have any ill blemish, you shall not sacrifice it unto Yahuah Elohayka. 22 You shall eat it within your gates: the unclean and the clean person shall eat it alike, as the roebuck, and as the deer. 23 Only you shall not eat the blood thereof; you shall pour it upon the ground as water.
CHAPTER 16
Guard the month of Aviyv, and keep the Pecach unto Yahuah Elohayka: for in the month of Aviyv Yahuah Elohayka brought you forth out of Mitsrayim by night. 2 You shall therefore sacrifice the Pecach unto Yahuah Elohayka, of the flock and the herd, in the place which Yahuah shall choose to place his name there. 3 You shall eat no chamets with it; seven days shall you eat matstsah therewith, even the bread of affliction; for you came forth out of the land of Mitsrayim in haste: that you may remember the day when you came forth out of the land of Mitsrayim all the days of your life. 4 And there shall be no chamets seen with you in all your coast seven days; neither shall there anything of the flesh, which you sacrificed the first day at evening, remain all night until the morning. 5 You may not sacrifice the Pecach within any of your gates, which Yahuah Elohayka gives you: 6 But at the place which Yahuah Elohayka shall choose to place his name in, there you shall sacrifice the Pecach at evening, at the going down of the sun, at the season that you came forth out of Mitsrayim. 7 And you shall roast and eat it in the place which Yahuah Elohayka shall choose: and you shall turn in the morning and go unto your tents. 8 Six days you shall eat matstsah: and on the seventh day shall be a solemn assembly to Yahuah Elohayka: you shall do no work therein.
9 Seven weeks you shall number unto you: begin to number the seven weeks from such time as you begin to put the sickle to the grain. 10 And you shall keep the Feast of Shavu'oth unto Yahuah Elohayka with a tribute of a freewill offering of your hand, which you shall give unto Yahuah Elohayka, according as Yahuah Elohayka has blessed you: 11 And you shall rejoice before Yahuah Elohayka, you, and your son, and your daughter, and your manservant, and your maidservant, and the Leviyiy that is within your gates, and the stranger, and the fatherless, and the widow, that are among you, in the place which Yahuah Elohayka has chosen to place his name there. 12 And you shall remember that you were a bondman in Mitsrayim: and you shall guard and do these statutes.
13 You shall keep the Feast of Cukkoth seven days, after that you have gathered in your threshing floor and your wine: 14 And you shall rejoice in your feast, you, and your son, and your daughter, and your manservant, and your maidservant, and the Leviyiy, the stranger, and the fatherless, and the widow, that are within your gates. 15 Seven days shall you keep a solemn feast unto Yahuah Elohayka in the place which Yahuah shall choose: because Yahuah Elohayka shall bless you in all your increase, and in all the works of your hands, therefore you shall surely rejoice.
16 Three times in a year shall all your males appear before Yahuah Elohayka in the place which he shall choose; in the Feast of Matstsah, and in the Feast of Shavu'oth, and in the Feast of Cukkoth: and they shall not appear before Yahuah empty: 17 Every man shall give as he is able, according to the blessing of Yahuah Elohayka which he has given you.
Haftarah: Melekiym Ri'shon (1 Kings) 8:54-9:1
And it was so, that when Shalomah had made an end of praying all this prayer and supplication unto El-Yahuah, את he arose from before the altar of Yahuah, from kneeling on his knees with his hands spread up to heaven. 55 And he stood and blessed את all the assembly of Yashar'el with a loud voice, saying: 56 Blessed be Yahuah, that has given rest unto his people Yashar'el, according to all that he promised: there has not failed one word of all his good promise, which he promised by the hand of Mosheh his servant. 57 Yahuah Elohaynu be with us, as he was with our fathers: let him not leave us, nor forsake us: 58 That he may incline our hearts unto him, to walk in all his ways, and to guard his commandments, and his statutes, and his judgments, which he commanded our fathers. 59 And let these my words, wherewith I have made supplication before Yahuah, be nigh unto El-Yahuah Elohaynu day and night, that he maintains the cause of his servant, and the cause of his people Yashar'el at all times, as the matter shall require: 60 That all the people of the earth may know that Yahuah is Elohiym, and that there is no one else. 61 Let your heart therefore be perfect with Yahuah Elohaynu, to walk in his statutes, and to guard his commandments, as at this day.
62 And the king, and all Yashar'el with him, offered sacrifice before Yahuah. 63 And Shalomah offered את a sacrifice of peace offerings, which he offered unto Yahuah, two and twenty thousand oxen, and a hundred and twenty thousand sheep. So the king and all the children of Yashar'el dedicated the house of Yahuah. 64 The same day did the king hallow the middle of the court that was before the house of Yahuah: for there he offered ascending smoke offerings, and oblations, and the fat of the peace offerings: because the brazen altar that was before Yahuah was too little to receive the ascending smoke offerings, and oblations, and the fat of the peace offerings. 65 And at that time Shalomah held a feast, and all Yashar'el with him, a great assembly, from the entering in of Chamath unto the river of Mitsrayim, before Yahuah Elohaynu, seven days and seven days, even fourteen days. 66 On the eighth day he sent the people away: and they blessed the king and went unto their tents joyful and glad of heart for all the goodness that Yahuah had done for David his servant, and for Yashar'el his people.
CHAPTER 9
And it came to pass, when Shalomah had finished the building of the house of Yahuah, and the king's house, and את all Shalomah's desire which he was pleased to do,
Besorah: Luqas (Luke) 2:21-32
And when eight days were accomplished for the circumcising of the child, his name was called Yahusha, which was so named of the angel before he was conceived in the womb. 22 And when the days of her purification according to the Torah of Mosheh were accomplished, they brought him to Yerushalayim, to present him to Yahuah; 23 (As it is written in the statutes of Yahuah, Every male that opens the womb shall be called holy to Yahuah;)
24 And to offer a sacrifice according to that which is said in the statutes of Yahuah: A pair of turtledoves, or two young pigeons. 25 And, behold, there was a man in Yerushalayim, whose name was Shim'on; and the same man was just and devout, waiting for the consolation of Yashar'el: and the Ruach Ha'Qodesh was upon him. 26 And it was revealed unto him by the Ruach Ha'Qodesh, that he should not see death, before he had seen Yahuah's Mashiach. 27 And he came by the Ruach into the Temple: and when the parents brought in the child Yahusha, to do for him according to the customary practices of the Torah, 28 Then took he him up in his arms, and blessed Elohiym, and said, 29 Yahuah, now let your servant depart in peace, according to your word: 30 For my eyes have seen your yeshu'ah, 31 Which you have prepared before the face of all people; 32 A light to lighten the other nations, and the glory of your people Yashar'el.
