Weekly Torah Portion

It is considered a great joy to study the Torah via the portions that were set out by Ezra to read through the Cepheriym Mosheh (Five Books of Moses), also referred to as the Pentateuch. In addition to the traditional Torah portions, we have also included weekly readings from the Haftorah (Prophets) and the Besorah (Gospels). These portions are also collectively available in our publication titled Parshat; a hardcover perpetual book for annual study. Chapter 25

1 AND Yahuah spoke unto Mosheh in Mount Ciynai, saying: 2 Speak unto the children of Yashar’el, and say unto them: When ye come into the land which I give you, then shall the land keep a Shabbath unto Yahuah3 Six years you shall sow your field, and six years you shall prune your vineyard, and gather in the fruit thereof; 4 But in the seventh year shall be a Shabbath of rest unto the land, a Shabbath for Yahuah: you shall neither sow your field, nor prune your vineyard. 5 את That which grows of its own accord of your harvest you shall not reap, neither gather the grapes of your vine undressed: for it is a year of rest unto the land. 6 And the Shabbath of the land shall be food for you; for you, and for your servant, and for your maid, and for your hired servant, and for your stranger that sojourns with you, 7 And for your cattle, and for the beast that are in your land, shall all the increase thereof be meat.

8 And you shall number seven Shabbaths of years unto you, seven times seven years; and the space of the seven Shabbaths of years shall be unto you forty and nine years. 9 Then shall you cause the shofar of the jubilee to sound on the tenth day of the seventh month, in Yom Kippuriym shall ye make the shofar sound throughout all your land. 10 And ye shall hallow את the fiftieth year and proclaim liberty throughout all the land unto all the inhabitants thereof: it shall be a jubilee unto you; and ye shall return every man unto his possession, and ye shall return every man unto his family. 11 A jubilee shall that fiftieth year be unto you: ye shall not sow, neither reap that which grows of itself in it, nor gather the grapes in it of your vine undressed. 12 For it is the jubilee; it shall be holy unto you: ye shall eat the increase thereof out of the field. 13 In the year of this jubilee ye shall return every man unto his possession. 14 And if you sell ought unto your neighbor, or buy ought of your neighbor's hand, ye shall not oppress one another: 15 According to the number of years after the jubilee you shall buy of your neighbor, and according unto the number of years of the fruits he shall sell unto you: 16 According to the multitude of years you shall increase the price thereof, and according to the fewness of years you shall diminish the price of it: for according to the number of the years of the fruits he sells unto you. 17 Ye shall not therefore oppress one another; but you shall fear your Elohiym: for I am Yahuah Elohaykem.

18 Wherefore ye shall do my statutes, and guard my judgments, and do them; and ye shall dwell in the land in safety. 19 And the land shall yield her fruit, and ye shall eat your fill, and dwell therein in safety. 20 And if ye shall say: What shall we eat the seventh year? Behold, we shall not sow, nor gather in our increase: 21 Then I will command my blessing upon you in the sixth year, and it shall bring forth fruit for three years. 22 And ye shall sow את the eighth year and eat yet of old fruit until the ninth year; until her fruits come in ye shall eat of the old store.

23 The land shall not be sold forever: for the land is mine; for ye are strangers and sojourners with me. 24 And in all the land of your possession ye shall grant a redemption for the land.

25 If your brother be waxen poor, and has sold away some of his possession, and if any of his kin come to redeem it, then shall he redeem את that which his brother sold. 26 And if the man has no one to redeem it, and himself be able to redeem it; 27 Then let him count the years of the sale thereof and restore the overplus unto the man to whom he sold it; that he may return unto his possession. 28 But if he be not able to restore it to him, then that which is sold shall remain in the hand of him that has bought it until the Year of Jubilee: and in the jubilee it shall go out, and he shall return unto his possession. 29 And if a man sells a dwelling house in a walled city, then he may redeem it within a whole year after it is sold; within a full year may he redeem it. 30 And if it be not redeemed within the space of a full year, then the house that is in the walled city shall be established forever to him that bought it throughout his generations: it shall not go out in the jubilee. 31 But the houses of the villages which have no wall round about them shall be counted as the fields of the country: they may be redeemed, and they shall go out in the jubilee. 32 Notwithstanding the cities of the Leviyiym, and the houses of the cities of their possession, may the Leviyiym redeem at any time. 33 And if a man purchases of the Leviyiym, then the house that was sold, and the city of his possession, shall go out in the Year of Jubilee: for the houses of the cities of the Leviyiym are their possession among the children of Yashar’el. 34 But the field of the suburbs of their cities may not be sold; for it is their perpetual possession.

35 And if your brother be waxen poor and fallen in decay with you; then you shall relieve him: yea, though he be a stranger, or a sojourner; that he may live with you. 36 Take no usury of him, or increase: but fear your Elohiym; that your brother may live with you. 37 You shall not give him your money upon usury, nor lend him your victuals for increase. 38 I am Yahuah Elohaykem, which brought you forth out of the land of Mitsrayim, to give you the land of Kena`an, and to be your Elohiym.

39 And if your brother that dwells by you be waxen poor, and be sold unto you; you shall not compel him to serve as a bondservant: 40 But as a hired servant, and as a sojourner, he shall be with you, and shall serve you unto the Year of Jubilee: 41 And then shall he depart from you, both he and his children with him, and shall return unto his own family, and unto the possession of his fathers shall he return. 42 For they are my servants, who I brought forth out of the land of Mitsrayim: they shall not be sold as bondmen. 43 You shall not rule over him with rigor; but shall fear your Elohiym44 Both your bondmen, and your bondmaids, which you shall have, shall be of the heathen that are round about you; of them shall ye buy bondmen and bondmaids. 45 Moreover of the children of the strangers that do sojourn among you, of them shall ye buy, and of their families that are with you, which they begat in your land: and they shall be your possession. 46 And ye shall take them as an inheritance for your children after you, to inherit them for a possession; they shall be your bondmen forever: but over your brethren the children of Yashar’el, ye shall not rule one over another with rigor.

47 And if a sojourner or stranger wax rich by you, and your brother that dwells by him wax poor, and sell himself unto the stranger or sojourner by you, or to the stock of the stranger's family: 48 After that he is sold he may be redeemed again; one of his brethren may redeem him: 49 Either his uncle, or his uncle's son, may redeem him, or any that is nigh of kin unto him of his family may redeem him; or if he be able, he may redeem himself. 50 And he shall reckon with him that bought him from the year that he was sold to him unto the Year of Jubilee: and the price of his sale shall be according unto the number of years, according to the time of a hired servant shall it be with him. 51 If there be yet many years behind, according unto them he shall give again the price of his redemption out of the money that he was bought for. 52 And if there remain but few years unto the Year of Jubilee, then he shall count with him, and according unto his years shall he give him again the price of his redemption. 53 And as a yearly hired servant shall he be with him: and the other shall not rule with rigor over him in your sight. 54 And if he be not redeemed in these years, then he shall go out in the Year of Jubilee, both he, and his children with him. 55 For unto me the children of Yashar’el are servants; they are my servants whom I brought forth out of the land of Mitsrayim: I am Yahuah Elohaykem.

Chapter 26

1 Ye shall make you no idols nor graven image, neither rear you up a standing image, neither shall ye set up any image of stone in your land, to bow down unto it: for I am Yahuah Elohaykem.

2 Ye shall guard my Shabbaths, and reverence my sanctuary: I am Yahuah.

Haftorah: Yirmeyahu (Jeremiah) 32:6-27

6 And Yirmeyahu said: The Word of Yahuah came unto me, saying: 7 Behold, Chanam’el the son of Shallum your uncle shall come unto you, saying: Buy you my field that is in Anathoth: for the right of redemption is yours to buy it8 So Chanam’el my uncle's son came to me in the court of the prison according to the Word of Yahuah, and said unto me: Buy my field, I pray you, that is in Anathoth, which is in the country of Binyamiyn: for the right of inheritance is yours, and the redemption is yours; buy it for yourself. Then I knew that this was the Word of Yahuah9 And I bought the field of Chanam’el my uncle's son, that was in Anathoth, and weighed him the money, even seventeen sheqels of silver. 10 And I subscribed the evidence, and sealed it, and took witnesses, and weighed him the money in the balances. 11 So I took the evidence of the purchase, both that which was sealed according to the commandment and custom, and that which was open: 12 And I gave the evidence of the purchase unto Baruch the son of Neriyahu, the son of Ma`aseyahu, in the sight of Chanam’el my uncle's son, and in the presence of the witnesses that subscribed the cepher of the purchase, before all the Yahudiym that sat in the court of the prison.

13 And I charged Baruch before them, saying: 14 Thus says Yahuah Tseva’oth, the Elohai of Yashar’el; Take these evidences, את this evidence of the purchase, both את which is sealed, and את this evidence which is open; and put them in an earthen vessel, that they may continue many days. 15 For thus says Yahuah Tseva’oth, the Elohai of Yashar’el; Houses and fields and vineyards shall be possessed again in this land.

16 Now when I had delivered the evidence of the purchase unto Baruch the son of Neriyahu, I prayed unto El-Yahuah, saying:

17 Ah Adonai Yahuah! behold, you have made the heavens and the earth by your great power and stretched out arm, and there is nothing too hard for you: 18 You show lovingkindness unto thousands, and recompense the iniquity of the fathers into the bosom of their children after them: Ha’GadolHa’El GibborYahuah Tseva’othis his name, 19 Great in counsel, and mighty in work: for your eyes are open upon all the ways of the sons of men: to give everyone according to his ways, and according to the fruit of his doings: 20 Which have set signs and wonders in the land of Mitsrayim, even unto this day, and in Yashar’el, and among other men; and have made you a name, as at this day; 21 And have brought forth your people Yashar’el out of the land of Mitsrayim with signs, and with wonders, and with a strong hand, and with a stretched out arm, and with great terror; 22 And have given them this land, which you did swear seven oaths to their fathers to give them, a land flowing with milk and honey; 23 And they came in, and possessed it; but they obeyed not your voice, neither walked in your Torah; they have done nothing of את all that you commanded them to do: therefore you have caused את all this evil to come upon them: 24 Behold the mounts, they are come unto the city to take it; and the city is given into the hand of the Kasdiym, that fight against it, because of the sword, and of the famine, and of the pestilence: and what you have spoken is come to pass; and, behold, you see it25 And you have said unto me, O Adonai Yahuah: Buy the field for money, and take witnesses; for the city is given into the hand of the Kasdiym.

26 Then came the Word of Yahuah unto El-Yirmeyahu, saying: 27 Behold, I am Yahuah, the Elohai of all flesh: is there anything too hard for me?

Besorah: Luqas (Luke) 13:1-33; Yochanon 10:22-42

Chapter 13

1 There were present at that season some that told him of the Galiyliym, whose blood Pilate had mingled with their sacrifices. 2 And Yahusha answering said unto them: Suppose ye that these Galiyliym were sinners above all the Galiyliym, because they suffered such things? 3 I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish. 4 Or those eighteen, upon whom the tower in Shiloach fell, and slew them, think ye that they were sinners above all men that dwelt in Yerushalayim? 5 I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.

6 He spoke also this parable; A certain man had a fig tree planted in his vineyard; and he came and sought fruit thereon and found none. 7 Then said he unto the dresser of his vineyard: Behold, these three years I come seeking fruit on this fig tree, and find none: cut it down; why cumbers it את the ground? 8 And he, answering, said unto him: My adoniy, let it alone this year also, till I shall dig about it, and dung it9 And if it bears fruit, well: and if not, then after that you shall cut it down. 10 And he was teaching in one of the synagogues on the Shabbath.

11 And, behold, there was a woman who had a ruach of infirmity eighteen years, and was bowed together, and could in no wise lift up herself12 And when Yahusha saw her, he called her to him, and said unto her: Woman, you are loosed from your infirmity. 13 And he laid his hands on her: and immediately she was made straight, and glorified Elohiym14 And the ruler of the synagogue answered with indignation, because that Yahusha had healed on the Shabbath, and said unto the people: There are six days in which men ought to work: in them therefore come and be healed, and not on the Shabbath. 15 Adonai then answered him, and said, You hypocrite, do not each one of you on the Shabbath loose his ox or his ass from the stall, and lead him away to watering? 16 And ought not this woman, being a daughter of Avraham, whom Satan has bound, lo, these eighteen years, be loosed from this bond on the Shabbath? 17 And when he had said these things, all his adversaries were ashamed: and all the people rejoiced for all the glorious things that were done by him.

18 Then said he: Unto what is the Kingdom of Elohiym like? And whereunto shall I resemble it? 19 It is like a grain of mustard seed, which a man took, and cast into his garden; and it grew, and waxed a great tree; and the fowls of the air lodged in the branches of it. 20 And again he said: Whereunto shall I liken את the Kingdom of Elohiym21 It is like leaven, which a woman took and hid in three measures of meal, till the whole was leavened. 22 And he went through the cities and villages, teaching, and journeying toward Yerushalayim. 23 Then said one unto him: Adonai, are there few that be saved? And he said unto them:

24 Strive to enter in at the strait gate: for many, I say unto you, will seek to enter in, and shall not be able. 25 When once the adoniy of the house is risen up, and has shut to the door, and ye begin to stand without, and to knock at the door, saying: AdonaiAdonai, open unto us; and he shall answer and say unto you, I know you not whence ye are: 26 Then shall ye begin to say: We have eaten and drunk in your presence, and you have taught in our streets. 27 But he shall say, I tell you, I know you not whence ye are; depart from me, all ye workers of iniquity. 28 There shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth, when ye shall see Avraham, and Yitschaq, and Ya`aqov, and את all the prophets, in the Kingdom of Elohiym, and you yourselves thrust out. 29 And they shall come from the east, and from the west, and from the north, and from the south, and shall sit down in the Kingdom of Elohiym30 And, behold, there are last which shall be first, and there are first which shall be last.

31 The same day there came certain of the Parashiym, saying unto him: Get you out, and depart hence: for Herod will kill you. 32 And he said unto them: Go ye, and tell that fox: Behold, I cast out devils, and I do cures today and tomorrow, and the third day I shall be perfected. 33 Nevertheless I must walk today, and tomorrow, and the day following: for it cannot be that a prophet perishes out of Yerushalayim.

Yochanon 10:22-42

22 And it was at Yerushalayim the Feast of Chanukkah, and it was winter. 23 And Yahusha walked in the Temple in Shalomah's Porch. 24 Then came the Yahudiym round about him, and said unto him: How long do you make us to doubt? If you be Ha’Mashiach, tell us plainly. 25 Yahusha answered them, I told you, and ye believed not: the works that I do in my Father's name, they bear witness of me. 26 But ye believe not, because ye are not of my sheep, as I said unto you. 27 My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me: 28 And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. 29 My Father, which gave them to me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand. 30 I and my Father are yachad. 31 Then the Yahudiym took up stones again to stone him. 32 Yahusha answered them: Many good works have I showed you from my Father; for which of those works do ye stone me? 33 The Yahudiym answered him, saying: For a good work we stone you not; but for blasphemy; and because that you, being a man, make yourself Elohiym34 Yahusha answered them: Is it not written in the Writings: I said,

Ye are elohiym?

35 If he called them elohiym, unto whom the Word of Elohiym came, and the Scripture cannot be broken; 36 Say ye of him, whom the Father has sanctified, and sent into the world: You blaspheme; because I said, I am the Son of Elohiym37 If I do not the works of my Father, believe me not. 38 But if I do, though ye believe not me, believe the works: that ye may know, and believe, that the Father is in me, and I in him. 39 Therefore they sought again to take him: but he escaped out of their hand, 40 And went away again beyond the Yardan into the place where Yahuchanon at first baptized; and there he abode. 41 And many resorted unto him and said: Yahuchanon did no miracle: but all things that Yahuchanon spoke of this man were true. 42 And many believed on him there.

Beha'alotcha

Parshat: Bemidbar (Numbers) 8:1 - 12:16

Chapter 8

1 And Yahuah spoke unto El-Mosheh, saying: 2 Speak unto El-Aharon, and say unto him: When you light the lamps, the seven lamps shall give light over against the menorah. 3 And Aharon did so; he lighted the lamps thereof over against the menorah, as Yahuah commanded Mosheh. 4 And this work of the menorah was of beaten gold, unto the shaft thereof, unto the flowers thereof, was beaten work: according unto the pattern which Yahuah had showed Mosheh, so he made the menorah.

5 And Yahuah spoke unto Mosheh, saying: 6 Take the Leviyiym from among the children of Yashar’el, and cleanse them. 7 And thus shall you do unto them, to cleanse them: Sprinkle water of purifying upon them, and let them shave all their flesh, and let them wash their clothes, and so make themselves clean. 8 Then let them take a young bullock with his oblation, even fine flour mingled with oil, and another young bullock shall you take for a sin offering. 9 And you shall bring the Leviyiym before the Tabernacle of the assembly: and you shall gather the whole assembly of the children of Yashar’el together: 10 And you shall bring the Leviyiym before Yahuah: and the children of Yashar’el shall put their hands upon the Leviyiym: 11 And Aharon shall offer the Leviyiym before Yahuah for an offering of the children of Yashar’el, that they may execute the service of Yahuah. 12 And the Leviyiym shall lay their hands upon the heads of the bullocks: and you shall offer the one for a sin offering, and the other for an ascending smoke offering, unto Yahuah, to make an atonement for the Leviyiym. 13 And you shall set the Leviyiym before Aharon, and before his sons, and offer them for an offering unto Yahuah. 14 Thus shall you separate the Leviyiym from among the children of Yashar’el: and the Leviyiym shall be mine. 15 And after that shall the Leviyiym go in to do the service of the Tabernacle of the assembly: and you shall cleanse them and offer them for an offering. 16 For they are wholly given unto me from among the children of Yashar’el; instead of such as open every womb, even instead of the firstborn of all the children of Yashar’el, have I taken them unto me. 17 For all the firstborn of the children of Yashar’el are mine, both man and beast: on the day that I smote every firstborn in the land of Mitsrayim I sanctified them for myself. 18 And I have taken the Leviyiym for all the firstborn of the children of Yashar’el. 19 And I have given the Leviyiym as a gift to Aharon and to his sons from among the children of Yashar’el, to do the service of the children of Yashar’el in the Tabernacle of the assembly, and to make an atonement for the children of Yashar’el: that there be no plague among the children of Yashar’el, when the children of Yashar’el come nigh unto the sanctuary. 20 And Mosheh, and Aharon, and all the assembly of the children of Yashar’el, did to the Leviyiym according unto all that Yahuah commanded Mosheh concerning the Leviyiym, so did the children of Yashar’el unto them. 21 And the Leviyiym were purified, and they washed their clothes; and Aharon offered them as an offering before Yahuah; and Aharon made an atonement for them to cleanse them. 22 And after that went the Leviyiym in to do their service in the Tabernacle of the assembly before Aharon, and before his sons: as Yahuah had commanded Mosheh concerning the Leviyiym, so did they unto them.

23 And Yahuah spoke unto Mosheh, saying: 24 This is it that belongs unto the Leviyiym: from twenty and five years old and upward they shall go in to wait upon the service of the Tabernacle of the assembly: 25 And from the age of fifty years they shall cease waiting upon the service thereof, and shall serve no more: 26 But shall minister with their brethren in the Tabernacle of the assembly, to guard the watch, and shall do no service. Thus shall you do unto the Leviyiym touching their charge.

Chapter 9

1 And Yahuah spoke unto El-Mosheh in the wilderness of Ciynai, in the first month of the second year after they were come out of the land of Mitsrayim, saying: 2 Let the children of Yashar’el also keep the Pecach at his appointed time. 3 In the fourteenth day of this month, at evening, ye shall keep it in his appointed time: according to all the rites of it, and according to all the ceremonies thereof, shall ye keep it. 4 And Mosheh spoke unto the children of Yashar’el, that they should keep the Pecach. 5 And they kept the Pecach on the fourteenth day of the first month at evening in the wilderness of Ciynai: according to all that Yahuah commanded Mosheh, so did the children of Yashar’el.

6 And there were certain men, who were defiled by the dead body of a man, that they could not keep the Pecach on that day: and they came before Mosheh and before Aharon on that day: 7 And those men said unto him: We are defiled by the dead body of a man: wherefore are we kept back, that we may not offer an offering of Yahuah in his appointed season among the children of Yashar’el? 8 And Mosheh said unto them: Stand still, and I will hear what Yahuah will command concerning you.

9 And Yahuah spoke unto Mosheh, saying: 10 Speak unto the children of Yashar’el, saying: If any man of you or of your posterity shall be unclean by reason of a dead body, or be in a journey afar off, yet he shall keep the Pecach unto Yahuah. 11 The fourteenth day of the second month at even they shall keep it and eat it with matstsah and bitter herbs. 12 They shall leave none of it unto the morning, nor break any bone of it: according to all the ordinances of the Pecach they shall keep it. 13 But the man that is clean, and is not in a journey, and forbears to keep the Pecach, even the same soul shall be cut off from among his people: because he brought not the offering of Yahuah in his appointed season, that man shall bear his sin. 14 And if a stranger shall sojourn among you and will keep the Pecach unto Yahuah; according to the ordinance of the Pecach, and according to the manner thereof, so shall he do: ye shall have one ordinance, both for the stranger, and for him that was born in the land.

15 And on the day that the Tabernacle was reared up the cloud covered the Tabernacle, namely, the tent of the testimony: and at evening there was upon the Tabernacle as it were the appearance of fire, until the morning. 16 So it was always: the cloud covered it by day, and the appearance of fire by night. 17 And when the cloud was taken up from the Tabernacle, then after that the children of Yashar’el journeyed: and in the place where the cloud abode, there the children of Yashar’el pitched their tents. 18 At the commandment of Yahuah the children of Yashar’el journeyed, and at the commandment of Yahuah they pitched: as long as the cloud abode upon the Tabernacle they rested in their tents. 19 And when the cloud tarried long upon the Tabernacle many days, then the children of Yashar’el did guard the watch of Yahuah and journeyed not. 20 And so it was, when the cloud was a few days upon the Tabernacle; according to the commandment of Yahuah they abode in their tents, and according to the commandment of Yahuah they journeyed. 21 And so it was, when the cloud abode from evening unto the morning, and that the cloud was taken up in the morning, then they journeyed: whether it was by day or by night that the cloud was taken up, they journeyed. 22 Or whether it was two days, or a month, or a year, that the cloud tarried upon the Tabernacle, remaining thereon, the children of Yashar’el abode in their tents, and journeyed not: but when it was taken up, they journeyed. 23 At the commandment of Yahuah they rested in the tents, and at the commandment of Yahuah they journeyed: they guarded the watch of Yahuah, at the commandment of Yahuah by the hand of Mosheh.

Chapter 10

1 And Yahuah spoke unto El-Mosheh, saying: 2 Make you two trumpets of silver; of a whole piece shall you make them: that you may use them for the calling of the assembly, and for the journeying of the camps. 3 And when they shall blow with them, all the assembly shall assemble themselves to you at the door of the Tabernacle of the assembly. 4 And if they blow but with one trumpet, then the princes, which are heads of the thousands of Yashar’el, shall gather themselves unto you. 5 When ye blow an alarm, then the camps that lie on the east parts shall go forward. 6 When ye blow an alarm the second time, then the camps that lie on the south side shall take their journey: they shall blow an alarm for their journeys. 7 But when the assembly is to be gathered together, ye shall blow, but ye shall not sound an alarm. 8 And the sons of Aharon, the priests, shall blow with the trumpets; and they shall be to you for an ordinance forever throughout your generations. 9 And if ye go to war in your land against the enemy that oppresses you, then ye shall blow an alarm with the trumpets; and ye shall be remembered before Yahuah Elohaykem, and ye shall be saved from your enemies. 10 Also in the day of your gladness, and in your solemn days, and in the beginnings of your months, ye shall blow with the trumpets over your ascending smoke offerings, and over the sacrifices of your peace offerings; that they may be to you for a memorial before your Elohiym: I am Yahuah Elohaykem.

11 And it came to pass on the twentieth day of the second month, in the second year, that the cloud was taken up from off the Tabernacle of the testimony. 12 And the children of Yashar’el took their journeys out of the wilderness of Ciynai; and the cloud rested in the wilderness of Pa’ran. 13 And they first took their journey according to the commandment of Yahuah by the hand of Mosheh.

14 In the first place went the standard of the camp of the children of Yahudah according to their armies: and over his host was Nachshon the son of Ammiynadav. 15 And over the host of the tribe of the children of Yisshakar was Nethan’el the son of Tsu`ar. 16 And over the host of the tribe of the children of Zevulun was Eliy’av the son of Chelon. 17 And the Tabernacle was taken down; and the sons of Gershon and the sons of Merariy set forward, bearing the Tabernacle.

18 And the standard of the camp of Re’uven set forward according to their armies: and over his host was Eliytsur the son of Shedey’ur. 19 And over the host of the tribe of the children of Shim`on was Shelumiy’el the son of Tsuriyshaddai. 20 And over the host of the tribe of the children of Gad was Elyacaph the son of De`u’el. 21 And the Qohathiym set forward, bearing the sanctuary: and the other did set up the Tabernacle against they came.

22 And the standard of the camp of the children of Ephrayim set forward according to their armies: and over his host was Eliyshama the son of Ammiyhud. 23 And over the host of the tribe of the children of Menashsheh was Gamliy’el the son of Pedahtsur. 24 And over the host of the tribe of the children of Binyamiyn was Aviydan the son of Gid`oniy.

25 And the standard of the camp of the children of Dan set forward, which was the rearward of all the camps throughout their hosts: and over his host was Achiy`ezer the son of Ammiyshaddai. 26 And over the host of the tribe of the children of Asher was Pag`iy’el the son of Okran. 27 And over the host of the tribe of the children of Naphtaliy was Achiyra the son of Eynan. 28 Thus were the journeyings of the children of Yashar’el according to their armies, when they set forward.

29 And Mosheh said unto Chovav, the son of Re’u’el the Midyaniy, Mosheh’s father-in-law: We are journeying unto the place of which Yahuah said, I will give it you: come with us, and we will do you good: for Yahuah has spoken good concerning Yashar’el. 30 And he said unto him: I will not go; but I will depart to my own land, and to my kindred. 31 And he said: Leave us not, I pray you; forasmuch as you know how we are to encamp in the wilderness, and you may be to us instead of eyes. 32 And it shall be, if you go with us, yea, it shall be, that what goodness Yahuah shall do unto us, the same will we do unto you.

33 And they departed from the Mount of Yahuah three days' journey: and the Ark of the Covenant of Yahuah went before them in the three days' journey, to search out a resting place for them. 34 And the cloud of Yahuah was upon them by day, when they went out of the camp. 35 ׆׆And it came to pass, when the Ark set forward, that Mosheh said, Rise up, Yahuah, and let your enemies be scattered; and let them that hate you flee before you. 36 And when it rested, he said, Return, O Yahuah, unto the many thousands of Yashar’el.׆

Chapter 11

1 And when the people complained, it displeased Yahuah: and Yahuah heard it; and his anger was kindled; and the fire of Yahuah burnt among them, and consumed them that were in the uttermost parts of the camp. 2 And the people cried unto Mosheh; and when Mosheh prayed unto El-Yahuah, the fire was quenched. 3 And he called the name of the place Tav`erah: because the fire of Yahuah burnt among them.

4 And the mixed multitude that was among them fell a lusting: and the children of Yashar’el also wept again, and said: Who shall give us flesh to eat? 5 We remember the fish, which we did eat in Mitsrayim freely; את the cucumbers, and את the melons, and the leeks, and the onions, and the garlic: 6 But now our soul is dried away: there is nothing at all, beside this manna, before our eyes. 7 And the manna was as coriander seed, and the color thereof as the color of bdellium. 8 And the people went about, and gathered it, and ground it in mills, or beat it in a mortar, and baked it in pans, and made cakes of it: and the taste of it was as the taste of fresh oil. 9 And when the dew fell upon the camp in the night, the manna fell upon it.

10 Then Mosheh heard the people weep throughout their families, every man in the door of his tent: and the anger of Yahuah was kindled greatly; Mosheh also was displeased. 11 And Mosheh said unto El-Yahuah: Wherefore have you afflicted your servant? And wherefore have I not found favor in your sight, that you lay the burden of all this people upon me? 12 Have I conceived את all this people? Have I begotten them, that you should say unto me: Carry them in your bosom, as a nursing father bears the sucking child, unto the land which you swore seven oaths unto their fathers? 13 Whence should I have flesh to give unto all this people? For they weep unto me, saying: Give us flesh, that we may eat. 14 I am not able to bear all this people alone, because it is too heavy for me. 15 And if you deal thus with me, kill me, I pray you, out of hand, if I have found favor in your sight; and let me not see my wretchedness.

16 And Yahuah said unto Mosheh: Gather unto me seventy men of the elders of Yashar’el, whom you know to be the elders of the people, and officers over them; and bring them unto the Tabernacle of the assembly, that they may stand there with you. 17 And I will come down and talk with you there: and I will take of the Ruach which is upon you and will put it upon them; and they shall bear the burden of the people with you, that you bear it not yourself alone. 18 And say you unto the people: Sanctify yourselves against tomorrow, and ye shall eat flesh: for ye have wept in the ears of Yahuah, saying: Who shall give us flesh to eat? For it was well with us in Mitsrayim: therefore Yahuah will give you flesh, and ye shall eat. 19 Ye shall not eat one day, nor two days, nor five days, neither ten days, nor twenty days; 20 But even a whole month, until it come out at your nostrils, and it be loathsome unto you: because that ye have despised Yahuah which is among you, and have wept before him, saying: Why came we forth out of Mitsrayim? 21 And Mosheh said: The people, among whom I am, are six hundred thousand footmen; and you have said, I will give them flesh, that they may eat a whole month. 22 Shall the flocks and the herds be slain for them, to suffice them? Or shall all the fish of the sea be gathered together for them, to suffice them? 23 And Yahuah said unto Mosheh, Is Yahuah’s hand waxed short? You shall see now whether my word shall come to pass unto you or not.

24 And Mosheh went out, and told the people את the words of Yahuah, and gathered the seventy men of the elders of the people and set them round about the Tabernacle. 25 And Yahuah came down in a cloud, and spoke unto him, and took of the Ruach that was upon him, and gave it unto the seventy elders: and it came to pass, that, when the Ruach rested upon them, they prophesied, and did not cease. 26 But there remained two of the men in the camp, the name of the one was Eldad, and the name of the other Meydad: and the Ruach rested upon them; and they were of them that were written but went not out unto the Tabernacle: and they prophesied in the camp. 27 And there ran a young man, and told Mosheh, and said, Eldad and Meydad do prophesy in the camp. 28 And Yahusha the son of Nun, the servant of Mosheh, one of his young men, answered and said: My adoniy Mosheh, forbid them. 29 And Mosheh said unto him: Envy you for my sake? Would to Elohiym that all Yahuah’s people were prophets, and that Yahuah would put his Ruach upon them! 30 And Mosheh got him into the camp, he and the elders of Yashar’el.

31 And there went forth a wind from Yahuah, and brought quails from the sea, and let them fall by the camp, as it were a day's journey on this side, and as it were a day's journey on the other side, round about the camp, and as it were two cubits high upon the face of the earth. 32 And the people stood up all that day, and all that night, and all the next day, and they gathered the quails: he that gathered least gathered ten homers: and they spread them all abroad for themselves round about the camp. 33 And while the flesh was yet between their teeth, ere it was chewed, the wrath of Yahuah was kindled against the people, and Yahuah smote the people with a very great plague. 34 And he called the name of that place Qivrot Hat-Ta’avah: because there they buried the people that lusted. 35 And the people journeyed from Qivrot Hat-Ta’avah unto Chatseroth; and abode at Chatseroth.

Chapter 12

1 And Miryam and Aharon spoke against Mosheh because of the Kushiyth woman whom he had married: for he had married a Kushiyth woman. 2 And they said: Has Yahuah indeed spoken only by Mosheh? Has he not spoken also by us? And Yahuah heard it. 3 (Now the man Mosheh was very meek, above all the men which were upon the face of the earth.) 4 And Yahuah spoke suddenly unto El-Mosheh, and unto El-Aharon, and unto Miryam: Come out ye three unto the Tabernacle of the assembly. And they three came out. 5 And Yahuah came down in the pillar of the cloud, and stood in the door of the Tabernacle, and called Aharon and Miryam: and they both came forth. 6 And he said: Hear now my words: If there be a prophet among you, I, Yahuah will make myself known unto him in a vision and will speak unto him in a dream. 7 My servant Mosheh is not so, who is faithful in all my house. 8 With him will I speak mouth to mouth, even apparently, and not in dark speeches; and the similitude of Yahuah shall he behold: wherefore then were ye not afraid to speak against my servant Mosheh? 9 And the anger of Yahuah was kindled against them; and he departed. 10 And the cloud departed from off the Tabernacle; and behold, Miryam became leprous, white as snow: and Aharon looked upon Miryam, and, behold, she was leprous. 11 And Aharon said unto Mosheh: Alas, my adoniy, I beseech you, lay not the sin upon us, wherein we have done foolishly, and wherein we have sinned. 12 Let her not be as one dead, of whom the flesh is half consumed when he comes out of his mother's womb. 13 And Mosheh cried unto El-Yahuah, saying: Heal her now, O El, I beseech you.

14 And Yahuah said unto Mosheh: If her father had but spit in her face, should she not be ashamed seven days? Let her be shut out from the camp seven days, and after that let her be received in again. 15 And Miryam was shut out from the camp seven days: and the people journeyed not till Miryam was brought in again. 16 And afterward the people removed from Chatseroth and pitched in the wilderness of Pa’ran.

Haftorah: Zakaryahu (Zechariah) 7:1-10

Chapter 7

1 And it came to pass in the fourth year of King Dareyavesh, that the Word of Yahuah came unto Zakaryahu in the fourth day of the ninth month, even in Kiclev; 2 When they had sent unto the house of El Shar’etser and Regem Melek, and their men, to pray before Yahuah, 3 And to speak unto the priests which were in the house of Yahuah Tseva’oth, and to the prophets, saying: Should I weep in the fifth month, separating myself, as I have done these so many years?

4 Then came the Word of Yahuah Tseva’oth unto me, saying: 5 Speak unto all the people of the land, and to the priests, saying: When ye fasted and mourned in the fifth and seventh month, even those seventy years, did ye at all fast unto me, even to me? 6 And when ye did eat, and when ye did drink, did not ye eat for yourselves, and drink for yourselves? 7 Should ye not hear the words which Yahuah has cried by the former prophets, when Yerushalayim was inhabited and in prosperity, and the cities thereof round about her, when men inhabited the Negev and the plain?

8 And the Word of Yahuah came unto Zakaryahu, saying: 9 Thus speaks Yahuah Tseva’oth, saying: Execute true judgment, and show mercy and compassions every man to his brother: 10 And oppress not the widow, nor the fatherless, the stranger, nor the poor; and let none of you imagine evil against his brother in your heart.

Besorah: Luqas (Luke) 17:11 - 18:14

Chapter 17

11 And it came to pass, as he went to Yerushalayim, that he passed through the midst of Shomeron and Galiyl. 12 And as he entered into a certain village, there met him ten men that were lepers, who stood afar off: 13 And they lifted up their voices, and said, Yahusha, Rabbi, have mercy on us. 14 And when he saw them, he said unto them: Go show yourselves unto the priests. And it came to pass, that, as they went, they were cleansed. 15 And one of them, when he saw that he was healed, turned back, and with a loud voice glorified Elohiym, 16 And fell down on his face at his feet, giving him thanks: and he was a Shomeroniy. 17 And Yahusha answering said: Were there not ten cleansed? But where are the nine? 18 There are not found that returned to give glory to Elohiym, save this stranger. 19 And he said unto him: Arise, go your way: your faith has made you whole.

20 And when he was demanded of the Parashiym, when the Kingdom of Elohiym should come, he answered them and said: The Kingdom of Elohiym comes not with observation: 21 Neither shall they say: Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the Kingdom of Elohiym is within you. 22 And he said unto the Talmidiym: The days will come, when ye shall desire to see one of the days of the Son of A’dam, and ye shall not see it. 23 And they shall say to you: See here; or see there: go not after them, nor follow them. 24 For as the lightning, that lightens out of the one part under heaven, shines unto the other part under heaven; so shall also the Son of A’dam be in his day. 25 But first must he suffer many things and be rejected of this nation. 26 And as it was in the days of Noach, so shall it be also in the days of the Son of A’dam. 27 They did eat, they drank, they married women, they were given in marriage, until the day that Noach entered into the ark, and the flood came, and destroyed them all. 28 Likewise also as it was in the days of Lot; they did eat, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they built; 29 But the same day that Lot went out of Cedom Yahuah rained fire and brimstone from heaven and destroyed them all. 30 Even thus shall it be in the day when the Son of A’dam is revealed. 31 In that day, he which shall be upon the housetop, and his stuff in the house, let him not come down to take it away: and he that is in the field, let him likewise not return back. 32 Remember Lot's woman. 33 Whosoever shall seek to save his life shall lose it; and whosoever shall lose his life shall preserve it. 34 I say unto you, it shall come to pass that two shall be on a couch; one is received and the other forsaken; 35 It shall come to pass that two shall be professing the Truth for the same; one is received and the other forsaken. 36 It shall come to pass that two shall be in the field; one is received and the other forsaken. 37 And they answered and said unto him: Where, Adonai? And he said unto them: Wheresoever the body is, thither will the eagles be gathered together.

Chapter 18

1 And he spoke a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to pray, and not to faint; 2 Saying: There was in a city a judge, which feared not Elohiym, neither regarded man: 3 And there was a widow in that city; and she came unto him, saying: Avenge me of my adversary. 4 And he would not for a while: but afterward he said within himself: Though I fear not Elohiym, nor regard man; 5 Yet because this widow troubles me, I will avenge her, lest by her continual coming she weary me. 6 And Adonai said: Hear what the unjust judge says. 7 And shall not Elohiym avenge his own elect, which cry day and night unto him, though he bears long with them? 8 I tell you that he will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless when the Son of A’dam comes, shall he find faith on the earth? 9 And he spoke this parable unto certain which trusted in themselves that they were righteous, and despised others: 10 Two men went up into the Temple to pray; the one a Parashiy, and the other a publican. 11 The Parashiy stood and prayed thus with himself, Elohiym, I thank you, that I am not as other men are, extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even as this publican. 12 I fast twice in the Shabbath, את I give tithes of all that I possess.

13 And the publican, standing afar off, would not lift up so much as his eyes unto heaven, but smote upon his breast, saying:

Elohiym be merciful to me a sinner.

14 I tell you, this man went down to his house justified rather than the other: for everyone that exalts himself shall be abased; and he that humbles himself shall be exalted. 15 And they brought unto him also infants, that he would touch them: but when his Talmidiym saw it, they rebuked them.
