Daniy'el (Daniel) 12:4
But you, O Daniy’el, shut up the words, and seal the cepher, even to the time of the end: many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased.
Many may ask: are we in the end of the age? And, is there scriptural support for such a proposition? Consider the Cepher Chanoch (the Book of Enoch):
Chanoch (Enoch) 90:6
For I know, that oppression will exist and prevail on earth; that on earth great punishment shall in the end take place; and that there shall be a consummation of all iniquity, which shall be cut off from its root, and every fabric shall pass away. Iniquity, however, shall again be renewed, and consummated on earth. Every act of crime, and every act of oppression and impiety, shall be a second time embraced.
Remember, Chanoch is an antediluvian cepher - a work written before the deluge of Noach; so, this passage predicts two consummations of iniquity. "As it was in the time of Noach, . . ."
We look at this passage and see that several things are present at the time of the end: 1) oppression, 2) impiety, and 3) crime. Let's see what other markers can be found that may give us a clue as to if we have arrived at the end of days.
Mattithyahu (Matthew) 24:3-8
And as he sat upon the Mount of Olives, the Talmidiym came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of your coming, and of the end of the world? 4 And YAHUSHA answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you. 5 For many shall come in my name, saying, I am MASHIACH; and shall deceive many. 6 And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. 7 For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in diverse places. 8 All these are the beginning of sorrows.
Now, we can add to this set the following: 4) many come in the name "mashiach" (many claim to be messiah, or anointed leader); 5) wars and rumors of wars; 6) nation rises against nation; and 7) kingdom against kingdom. Is this a complete set of indicators?
Mattithyahu (Matthew) 24:9-12
Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you: and ye shall be hated of all nations for my name's sake. 10 And then shall many be offended, and shall betray one another, and shall hate one another. 11 And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many. 12 And because the transgression of the Torah shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold.
Again, we add to our roster: 8) the Talmidiym will be afflicted, killed, and hated by all nations; 9) many shall be offended by the name, and those who are offended will betray each other and hate each other; 10) false prophets will arise and deceive many; 11) the transgression of the Torah will abound; and 12) the love of many will grow cold.
Although there are many more which you may be able to cite (such as all those things prophesied in Chizayon (Revelation), the last one to consider here for our purposes is that knowledge shall be increased.
In Scripture, we often see the three signs of the rosh which is ELOHIYM; i.e. Wisdom (chokmah), Understanding (binah) and Knowledge (da'ath). We can, for purposes of our discussion here immediately conclude that knowledge is something distinct and different from understanding, and distinct and different from wisdom. We can likewise conclude that wisdom and understanding are also equidistant from each other. While this does not give us an understanding of the word “knowledge” by genus and difference, it does narrow the field.
Can it not be said that knowledge is a gathering of information? It has been written that "knowledge is power" but, truly that is not so. Knowledge, the understanding of knowledge and the wisdom to use such knowledge is power, for such is the rosh (head) of ELOHIYM.
Something is occurring, however, in the natural like never before. Information is not only increasing, the volume of information is doubling every year (according to some sources), and the rate of the doubling is moving in accord with Mohr's law. Never, in the history of mankind (at least since the great deluge) has information increased at this rate.
The data on this is so overwhelming and voluminous that Daniy'el's time of the end appears to be in realization. When the mind considers the volume of information coming available, it can be overwhelming; yet, we now begin to look to artificial intelligence (AI) to manage the data for us.
Of course, with the perfection of AI comes the greatest danger that man will ever face: self-awareness being achieved in digital constructs. Ray Kurzweil refers to this moment as "singularity"; however, we have seen this event before in the garden, which may be referred to as the first singularity, or the Original SINgularity, when man ate from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. This tells you something as well; that knowledge, without wisdom and understanding, brings both good and evil. And that is exactly what you can expect from AI.
And although the proper focus of the mind is toward knowledge, wisdom and understanding ("As for these four children, ELOHIYM gave them knowledge and skill in all learning and wisdom: and Daniy’el had understanding in all visions and dreams (Daniy'el 1:17), the better mind considers the crowning will of YAHUAH:
Qolosiym (Colossians) 1:9
For this cause we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to desire that ye might be filled with the knowledge of his will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding;
