The Barna Research Group discovered in the year 2003 that 98% of those who call themselves Christians in the United States and 96% of their pastors do not believe that prophecy is worth knowing or studying.
Why should we read prophecy, if it always results in divergent opinion? For instance, there is no discussion like the discussion between believers as to their position on the great tribulation and the timing of the rapture. In the genre, some are pre-tribulation (pre-trib), some are mid-tribulation (mid-trib), and some are post-tribulation (post-trib). The last category to appear is the pan-tribulationists (pan-trib) who believe that whether pre, mid, or post, it will all pan out in the end.
For this reason, many pastors in the corporate Christian churches have abandoned not only the prophecies found in the so-called Old Testament including Isaiah (Yesha’yahu), Jeremiah (Yermiyahu), Ezekiel (Yekhezq’el), Daniel (Daniy’el), and the twelve prophets, but also the teachings of First & Second Thessalonians, (Cepher Tasloniqiym Ri’shon & Sheniy) and the book of Revelation (Chizayon). Unfortunately, such pastors also have to avoid the Olivet Sermons in Matthew, Mark and Luke (Mattithyahu 24; Marcus 13; Lucas 21).
More difficult for the pastors running in fear from prophecy is the following verse:
Chizayon (Revelation) 19:10b
[W]orship YAH: for the testimony of YAHUSHA is the RUACH of Prophecy.
Do pastors have an obligation to consider prophecy in their teaching? The words of Sha’ul (Paul) seem to indicate that such is the case:
Qorintiym Ri’shon (1 Corinthians) 1:3-10
Grace be unto you, and peace, from YAHUAH our Father, and from the YAHUSHA HAMASHIACH. 4 I thank my YAH always on your behalf, for the grace of YAHUAH which is given you by YAHUSHA HAMASHIACH; 5 That in everything ye are enriched by him, in all utterance, and in all knowledge; 6 Even as the testimony of MASHIACH was confirmed in you: 7 So that ye come behind in no gift; waiting for the coming of our ADONAI YAHUSHA HAMASHIACH: 8 Who shall also confirm you unto the end, that ye may be blameless in the day of our ADONAI YAHUSHA HAMASHIACH.
Again, pastors are called – if in fact they are servants (obed) of MASHIACH – to the revelation of YAHUSHA HAMASHIACH that they might bear the record of the Word of YAHUAH, and the testimony of YAHUSHA HAMASHIACH. This is how Chizayon (Revelation) begins:
Chizayon (Revelation) 1:1-3
The Revelation of YAHUSHA HAMASHIACH, which YAHUAH gave unto him, to show את eth-unto his servants things את eth which must shortly come to pass; and he sent and signified it by his angel unto his servant Yahuchanon: 2 Who bore record of the Word of YAHUAH, and of the testimony of YAHUSHA HAMASHIACH, and of all things that he saw. 3 Blessed is he that reads, and they that hear the words of this prophecy, and guard את eth-those things which are written therein: for the time is at hand.
We are reminded again that the testimony of YAHUSHA is the RUACH of prophecy. The teaching of Chizayon goes on to tell us with whom the dragon would make war; namely, those who guard the commandments and have the testimony of YAHUSHA – which is the spirit of prophecy.
Chizayon (Revelation) 12:17
And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which guard the commandments of YAHUAH, and have the testimony of YAHUSHA HAMASHIACH.
Pastors should not be ignoring these words of prophecy; for in so doing, they ensure that their disciples will be without oil in their lamps at the time of the return of the groom.
