We have seen that the house of Yisra’el – Yasharon – also provoked YAHUAH to anger with abominations. Let’s take a look at this word abomination, the practice of which brings on the anger of YAH, remembering that in this case, we are talking about abominations (the plural). Are there examples of such things described in scripture? Of course, and these practices are particularly identified as abominations.
First, is incest.
Vayiqra (Leviticus) 18:6-18
None of you shall approach to any that is near of kin to him, to uncover their nakedness: I am YAHUAH. 7 The nakedness of your father, or the nakedness of your mother, shall you not uncover: she is your mother; you shall not uncover her nakedness. 8 The nakedness of your father's woman shall you not uncover: it is your father's nakedness. 9 The nakedness of your sister, the daughter of your father, or daughter of your mother, whether she be born at home, or born abroad, even their nakedness you shall not uncover. 10 The nakedness of your son's daughter, or of your daughter's daughter, even their nakedness you shall not uncover: for theirs is your own nakedness. 11 The nakedness of your father's woman's daughter, begotten of your father, she is your sister, you shall not uncover her nakedness. 12 You shall not uncover the nakedness of your father's sister: she is your father's near kinswoman. 13 You shall not uncover the nakedness of your mother's sister: for she is your mother's near kinswoman. 14 You shall not uncover the nakedness of your father's brother, you shall not approach to his woman: she is your aunt. 15 You shall not uncover the nakedness of your daughter in law: she is your son's woman; you shall not uncover her nakedness. 16 You shall not uncover the nakedness of your brother's woman: it is your brother's nakedness. 17 You shall not uncover the nakedness of a woman and her daughter, neither shall you take her son's daughter, or her daughter's daughter, to uncover her nakedness; for they are her near kinswomen: it is wickedness. 18 Neither shall you take a woman to her sister, to vex her, to uncover her nakedness, beside the other in her life time.
Then sexual uncleanness:
Vayiqra (Leviticus) 18:19
Also you shall not approach unto a woman to uncover her nakedness, as long as she is put apart for her uncleanness.
Then adultery:
Vayiqra (Leviticus) 18:20
Moreover you shall not lie carnally with your neighbour's woman, to defile yourself with her.
Then sacrificing to Molek:
Vayiqra (Leviticus) 18:21
And you shall not let any of your seed pass through the fire to Molek, neither shall you profane the name of your ELOHIYM: I am YAHUAH.
Then sodomy:
Vayiqra (Leviticus) 18:22
You shall not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination.
Then bestiality:
Vayiqra (Leviticus) 18:23-30
Neither shall you lie with any beast to defile yourself therewith: neither shall any woman stand before a beast to lie down thereto: it is confusion.
These things are abominations by definition.
24 Defile not ye yourselves in any of these things: for in all these the nations are defiled which I cast out before you: 25 And the land is defiled: therefore I do visit the iniquity thereof upon it, and the land itself vomits out her inhabitants. 26 Ye shall therefore keep my statutes and my judgments, and shall not commit any of these abominations; neither any of your own nation, nor any stranger that sojourns among you: 27 (For all these abominations have the men of the land done, which were before you, and the land is defiled;) 28 That the land spew not you out also, when ye defile it, as it spewed out the nations that were before you. 29 For whosoever shall commit any of these abominations, even the souls that commit them shall be cut off from among their people. 30 Therefore shall ye keep my ordinance, that ye commit not anyone of these abominable customs, which were committed before you, and that ye defile not yourselves therein: I am YAHUAH your ELOHIYM.
Then, there is idol worship:
Devariym (Deuteronomy) 7: 25-26
The graven images of their gods shall ye burn with fire: you shall not desire the silver or gold that is on them, nor take it unto you, lest you be snared therein: for it is an abomination to YAHUAH your ELOHIYM. 26 Neither shall you bring an abomination into your house, lest you be a cursed thing like it: but you shall utterly detest it, and you shall utterly abhor it; for it is a cursed thing.
Eating abominable things:
Devariym (Deuteronomy) 14:3-23
You shall not eat any abominable thing. 4 These are the beasts which ye shall eat: the ox, the sheep, and the goat, 5 The hart, and the roebuck, and the fallow deer, and the wild goat, and the pygarg, and the wild ox, and the chamois. 6 And every beast that parts the hoof, and cleaves the cleft into two claws, and chews the cud among the beasts, that ye shall eat. 7 Nevertheless these ye shall not eat of them that chew the cud, or of them that divide the cloven hoof; as the camel, and the hare, and the coney: for they chew the cud, but divide not the hoof; therefore they are unclean unto you. 8 And the swine, because it divides the hoof, yet chews not the cud, it is unclean unto you: ye shall not eat of their flesh, nor touch their dead carcase.
9 These ye shall eat of all that are in the waters: all that have fins and scales shall ye eat: 10 And whatsoever has not fins and scales ye may not eat; it is unclean unto you.
11 Of all clean birds ye shall eat. 12 But these are they of which ye shall not eat: the eagle, and the ossifrage, and the ospray, 13 And the glede, and the kite, and the vulture after his kind, 14 And every raven after his kind, 15 And the owl, and the night hawk, and the cuckow, and the hawk after his kind, 16 The little owl, and the great owl, and the swan, 17 And the pelican, and the gier eagle, and the cormorant, 18 And the stork, and the heron after her kind, and the lapwing, and the bat. 19 And every creeping thing that flies is unclean unto you: they shall not be eaten. 20 But of all clean fowls ye may eat.
21 Ye shall not eat of anything that dies of itself: you shall give it unto the stranger that is in your gates, that he may eat it; or you may sell it unto an alien: for you are a holy people unto YAHUAH your ELOHIYM. You shall not seethe a kid in his mother's milk. 22 You shall truly tithe את (eth) all the increase of your seed, that the field brings forth year by year. 23 And you shall eat before YAHUAH your ELOHIYM, in the place which he shall choose to place his name there, the tithe of your corn, of your wine, and of your oil, and the firstlings of your herds and of your flocks; that you may learn to fear את (eth)-YAHUAH your ELOHIYM always.
Transvestitism:
Devariym (Deuteronomy) 22:5
The woman shall not wear that which pertains unto a man, neither shall a man put on a woman's garment: for all that do so are abomination unto YAHUAH your ELOHIYM.
Then there is the bringing of whores and sodomites into the house of YAHUAH:
Devariym (Deuteronomy) 23:17-18
There shall be no whore of the daughters of Yisra’el, nor a sodomiy of the sons of Yisra’el. 18 You shall not bring the hire of a whore, or the price of a dog, into the house of YAHUAH your ELOHIYM for any vow: for even both these are abomination unto YAHUAH your ELOHIYM.
Then there is remarrying a former spouse:
Devariym (Deuteronomy) 24:1-4
When a man has taken a woman, and married her, and it come to pass that she find no favour in his eyes, because he has found some uncleanness in her: then let him write her a cepher of divorcement, and give it in her hand, and send her out of his house. 2 And when she is departed out of his house, she may go and be another man's woman. 3 And if the latter man hate her, and write her a cepher of divorcement, and gives it in her hand, and sends her out of his house; or if the latter man die, which took her to be his woman; 4 Her former man, which sent her away, may not take her again to be his woman, after that she is defiled; for that is abomination before YAHUAH: and you shall not cause the land to sin, which YAHUAH your ELOHIYM gives you for an inheritance.
Then there is perversion:
Mishlei (Proverbs) 3:32 / 11:20
For the forward (perverse) is abomination to YAHUAH: but his secret is with the righteous.
They that are of a froward (perverse) heart are abomination to YAHUAH: but such as are upright in their way are his delight.
There are six things in general:
Mishlei (Proverbs) 6:16
These six things YAHUAH hates: yea, seven are an abomination unto him: 17 A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood, 18 An heart that devises wicked imaginations, feet that be swift in running to mischief, 19 A false witness that speaks lies, and he that sows discord among brethren.
There are false measurements and diverse weights:
Mishlei (Proverbs)11:1 / 20:10
A false balance is abomination to YAHUAH: but a just weight is his delight.
Diverse weights, and diverse measures, both of them are alike abomination to YAHUAH.
For those judges out there, and those jurors who make what they believe to be politically correct decisions, instead of decisions which justify the just and condemn the wicked, doing injustice is abomination to YAHUAH.
Mishlei (Proverbs) 17:15
He that justifies the wicked, and he that condemns the just, even they both are abomination to YAHUAH.
We will conclude however with a verse that goes overlooked in most of those churches whose members are not "under the law":
Mishlei (Proverbs) 28:9
He that turns away his ear from hearing the Torah, even his prayer shall be abomination.
